the artwork of the tenth edition is great.

Blue's answer to Wrath. Its use is limited, but it can save the game for you sometimes.

great card, especially against a deck that outnumbers your creatures.

I agree that it's a Blue Wrath or God in it's own way. Handy, since Blue is more about counter than distruction when you think of it.

Works well with merfolk, since they can set up again very fast with stonybrook banneret, merrow reejerey and silvergill adept. This card is how my blue deck survives multiplayer. Its a good insurance policy that lets you lay low and build up. I highly recommend this card for any blue deck as an all purpose bomb for taking over a game or just surviving a killing blow.

I wish it had been reprinted, blue's answer to aggro decks and it doesnt target so shroud and prot creatures fly back too, and tokens go away

It's Psychatog's trump card. Saved me from getting wiped out a few times because, unlike Wrath of God, it's instant speed.

Instant-speed Board Cleaner? Yes please.

Green mage: "Overrun!"

Blue mage: "More like run away."

Blue: The color of high cost. It's like they cost all blue cards so that you can get down to 1 life and gain control.

I used to use this in a deck with Eternal Witness, she would come back to my hand and give me back my Evacuation. Was great vs green decks.

This card is bonkers with creature recursion like Eternal Witness or Mnemonic Wall. The best part is definitely the Instant type though. With enough mana, it's the ultimate stall tactic.

I want this back.

In the days when I just started playing Magic, I kept wondering why this is costed higher than Wrath. But it's an instant, and while not as ubiquitous as Wrath / DoJ it did show up in some Standard decks, most notably in Owling Mine, but also making minor appearance in some control decks.

Now I miss this: best way to let your Jace live for yet another turn (besides Time Warp I guess).

Works well as a finisher in a Megrim or Liliana's Caress -based Discard Deck. I've had an opponent take ~20 damage from it before.

Blue hates creatures. HATES them.

To be fair dacen, Black and Red do token hate just as good if not better.

Often cards in black or red, for one mana no less, have a pestilence effect (or better.) Look at Carnifex Demon. I dare you to get a token deck up and running against that thing. (but for black, getting it out turn 1-3 isn't much of a problem.) Blue does OK, but it's only recent cards (echoing truth and this) that seem to allow more token hate.

That's exactly how I play chess: smacking the board and sending the pieces flying across the room.

This will take any conceivable creature off the board at instant speed. Progenitus? Gone. Blightsteel Colossus? Gone.

Blue's version of global wipe, like Damnation or Day of Judgment.

What's that? You cast Rude Awakening and paid it's entwine cost? Oops, who needs a Leyline?

Oh, you just spent several turns turning weenies into fatties with counters, infecting my creatures, setting up creature combos, used fun enchantments, or just Elvish Promenaded to boost your Heedless One and are now swinging? Oh whatever will I do.

Lol, blue instant wrath. Wraths don't have to destroy things. As long as they go away, it's a wrath.

Like Kontrah said, the blue board sweep! I think that blue needs a little more this kind of mass bounce... If they reprint Day of Judgment every year, they could actually reprint this without fear! (accidentally I put it in rhyme...) The fact that it's an instant makes it an unpleasant surprise... However I would like it even if it were a sorcery that costs {2UU}, but it would lose 50% of its blue-ness...

I remember one game I played some years ago, when facing a red deck that had a Shivan Dragon in the battlefield. My opponent attacked me, I hadn't anything to defend. "I take... How many dmg?" I said taking the pen in the hand ready to write my life points. So my opponent, thinking that I haven't anything to stop the dragon, pumped it at its max without fear, so in response I played Evacuation. It was a little upset, but it was a funny match nonetheless!

5/5

I would say "Reprint, please!" but I play almost modern, so it's not a problem, only that I'd like to see more mass-bounce effects in blue.

The Ultimate board wiper along with Final Judgment, these 2 can get rid of the most annoying combos and most unremovable creatures in existence, indestructible-untargeteable-unsac-able-unetcable-platinum angel? fine, exiled/to your hand

Great Blue card, it's usually both a life-saver and a turn-the-table spell. Not overpriced, not overpowered, just right.

Lets weigh this against Devastation Tide

Devastation Tide
-nonland permanents
-miracle

This
-Instant speed

I prefer Evacuation

My wife, facing a fatal attack by a horde of attackers with only one card in hand and a couple utility creatures on the field.

"Oh dear. Got nothing else to do... I suppose I'll activate my Jace's Archivist, and oh yeah, before that resolves, Evacuation."

As has been stated, instant speed makes this card.

It's saved me a lot of times. I used to have 4 copies of the older version of this card (the one with some dude helping people get on a zeppelin) but I sold those for the sake of getting the 10th edition ones.
