Narcomoeba is incompatable. It has to be milled out not sacrificed.

Dredge Deck mills itself to put Narcomoebas into play, then sacrifices them to Dread Return to play Iona or Flamekin Zealot while creating a dozen zombie tokens in the process.

Nice synergy between this and Terastodon. Sac the 3 Elephants to pay the flashback cost and get a Realm Razer.

Arachibutyrophobia, not the best reanimation spell. you forgot reanimate

Saproling Cluster can get this and a mega-fattie into your graveyard while at the same time giving you two of the three creatures you need for the flashback cost.

When dredging and discarding, it's a nice idea to have this card in your graveyard, together with loads of lands, Worm Harvest and something that you want to reanimate! :)
narcomoeba is compatible because if you dredge (ie mill yourself) you have a decent chance of putting both this and narcomoeba into your graveyard from your library, then you get to cast this with absolutely no prior investment, along with some big creature you dredged out. you don't even have to put blue in your deck to do this.

Very powerful reanimator... but not the best. Neither is reanimate.
The best is Recurring Nightmare. I *believe* it's the only one that has seen ban lists and currently can't be played in EDH.

Who knew the "Sac three to flash this back" would end up being the only reason this sees tons and tons of play?

I wonder if they will reprint any good Flasback cards in Innistrad. Its only two months away! Shouldn't this card have the Tombstone in the corner.

The part i like most is that unlike Snuff Out for example, the effect also works if you don't have any swamps. So if you're not going to hard cast this anyways, you can cast it from your graveyard without even splashing black.

Great artwork. Is that Mindslicer? Subtle, Time Spiral, subtle.
Each Time Spiral card was an homage to at least one previously printed card.
This card is referencing Mindslicer in its art and arguably its flashback cost (which would play well with 'death triggered' effects like Mindslicer's.)
At the moment Griselbrand's even more powerful in decks exploiting Sneak Attack and Show and Tell, so barely any Dredge decks are showing up in Legacy tournament decklists at the moment. But if something in the metagame changes in Dredge's favor, I think you'll see quite a lot of flashed-back Dread Returns targeting Griselbrand.

I bought a few random theme decks from a site somewhere, from Planar Chaos.
One of them, Rituals of Rebirth, had THREE of these in it.

It also had a Sengir Autocrat, and two legendary creatures.
I think it's the best theme deck I've ever bought.
