This card feels better and better everytime I look at it. Eventhough the body is slightly under the curve, the ability is awesome. Should see constructed play.

Some of the most retarded art I've seen in a long time, maybe since Aven Trooper

How they went from Alara's amazing cyborg sphinxes to this hobo version is beyond me. The card itself is so-so. Would've been better with another keyword to make up for it's low power, or if they just gave it defender and reduced it's mana cost.

This is seriously one of the best cards in the set. This and Cosi's trickster are the best blue cards in standard.

One of my favourites from the set. 3x looting is really good, drawing 3 is game-breaking. A 3/5 flying body is both a long-term threat and a good blocker, and these are all things a control deck loves. I agree with most people that the art is ... umm ... strange, but that is the only real shortcoming of the card, so I don't care. ^^

Bad artwork or not, he's still a damn good creature! I also like how playing him creates not-so-obvious decisions with the kicker cost. One of my Zendikar favorites for sure.

Great card. I wish it was an artifact creature so it would fit better in my esper artifact deck.

I want to know how he gets his braids to stick out like that.
I love how kicker is evolving. For such a killer ability, it's about time we saw some evolution (non-mana costs don't count).

Great card if you can get the mana to play it, and also not paying the kicker may help at times, so it's a good rounder.

Strictly worse than Storm Crow.

A 3/5, even with flying, for 5 mana isn't a great deal. The 3 card draw is nice, but the 3 card discard ruins it. In order for it to be advantageous, I have to pay 7 mana for it... If I'm running a control deck (and why would I play it if I'm not?) I need 2-3 free mana to counter threats next turn...

In the end, it tries to be a big blocker AND a draw ability and does both kinda mediocre... I'd rather play Tidings one turn and Goliath Sphinx the next...

This creature topdecked just won me a match when I was staring down the barrel of two Malakir Bloodwitches and a Bloodghast while I had two health. He became a blocker, and drew me my 8th and 9th lands and Rite of Replication for the win. I like to think of him as an {X} = {3} Mind Spring and a 3/5 flier for {1}{U}.

Very fun card I almost always draw 3 for 7 but can see times where 3 cards in the graveyard would be useful

The art is NOT bad. Its a detailed picture of a hideous beast with a human visage, not all sphinxes are pretty...

Jace's Ingenuity with a 3/5 flier attached, and the downside you pay for all this- totally optional.

Switch P/T and switch order of draw/discard, so you would have had a nice red card.

When I first saw this, I thought it was crapp. Of course, that night, I pulled one. But then, I used it, and it's great! While it may be below the curve, it can generally attack and kill something/get through for 3, and if worse comes to worse, it has good toughness, and can block a sword-weilding Squadron Hawk all day!

So, comparing this to Sphinx of Uthuun, both are seven mana. this is a 3/5, Uthuun is a 5/6. This, when kicked, gives a free Ancestral Recall, Uthuun gives a free Fact or Fiction. Take your pick.

Not too bad for some reanimation shenanigans, five mana for a three card filter and a 3/5 flying body. More and more I'm seeing value in looting. Not the best option but could be useful in EDH

I run this card in my manaless dredge deck, and it's been nothing but good to me. I Dread Return it to start dredging most of my deck, almost always dredging into another copy of this and a Dread Return, which empties anything left in my library. And then they act as flying bodies if I stall out or need just a few more points of damage with my Flame-Kin Zealot. 4.5/5

I too think the face is terribly done. I'd prefer beautiful or frightening, possibly incomprehensible.

Oversized John Wayne face with gelled-out dreadlocks?
No thx

If you are playing for kicker, I think that you're better off with Sphinx of Uthuun, but this card is not bad by any stretch.
