This is probably my favourite Magic card ever. Every time I build a fun deck that's controllish, one of these goes in there. There's nothing quite like shuffling the deck, offering it to the opponent and waiting for the served card which you can play for free. Remember - save your land drop before you tap those 5 mana. Combine Aperture with Voltaic Key and cards like Thran Dynamo for more fun. Wait there, wasn't there a German player once who did just that?

Kai Budde :) I bought his 99' championship deck and tuned it with 3x Tezzeret, a few artifact lands and a few Upheaval instead of Wildfire... I float a lot of mana, then Upheaval, then play a lot of stuff again, 2 Covetous Dragon if I'm lucky, and then p@ss the turn :)

This...is...EPIC!!! Harder to kill than Djinn of Wishes, and with some of the mentioned stuff?!?! Wow.
The only problem with using this to get myojin cards into play is that the myojin would not enter the battlefield with a divinity counter on it.

So fun and powerful. My Grozoth deck especially loves this card.

I swear whenever I drop this in paper a certain buddy of mine groans, because I can be the luckiest bastard alive sometimes. "Emrakul? really? again?"

Maybe I'm misunderstanding something, but since this card allows you to cast the revealed card 'as though it were in your hand', wouldn't the myojin cards come into play with the divinity counter?
This got moved from 4.5 stars to 4 stars for forcing you to shuffle your library beforehand. Of course that's to control this artifact's power, but I'm not fond enough of this card to build a deck around it nor push my luck. Still a good card, though.

One advice: activate it before you play a land, so you can still play a land in case you draw one with this card.

I've actually taken this out of my casual decks; my friends were not enjoying playing against it at all. They don't mind Emrakul too much if I pay 15 mana (Exsanguinate would genarally be stronger at this cmc in multiplayer) but for 5 mana they have a right to feel cheated. Still, it is an awesome card.
LeoKula: you're right it was Kai Budde, although I think he just played the deck, he didn't build it if I remember correctly.

That guy must be Gordan Freeman...
I hope at least some of you have played half-life 1, this card fits it so perfectly!

My my, Glados, what a nice red sheen you got today.
-flying 4/4 body can bring the hurt on its own -less CMC to activate -Scry abilities, common in blue, can help activate his ability only when necessary
Main con: easy to remove and hard to play outside of blue.
Temporal Aperture pros:
-colorless -costs less to put on the battlefield -does not die to common creature removal
Main con: ability too random and costs more CMC

@hid@n, AwesomeEevee: This does not trigger "cast from hand" abilities like the Myojins', because you didn't cast it from your hand (note that the Oracle rules text does not include this phrase). See ruling on Yawgmoth's Will.

Works under Possessed Portal; which is another non-draw card advantage engine to keep it going while others suffer. It can work well with Mana Severance. It works great with Leyline of Anticipation or it's artifact brother Orrery.
