Wow! This guy is good. Coulda been named Krypt Champion though.

Overall I think this is a fairly solid card, especially if you are running a tribal zombie deck, though red zombies do exist, I do not personally findthem largely game changing. But Adding Dark Temper and Terminate could be very useful.
Also few things are more fun than playing this after a Death Baron has hit the yard, and getting yourself a 3/3 Double striking Death toucher.

severly underrated card. Pulls out most Specters or a Fleshbag for lots of fun.

Very good Zombie card, but I do have one minor complaint about it.
The mana cost. This should have been a gold-bordered card with a mana cost of . Would have made much more sense.

@Hayw00d0909: This is better at its current mana cost. As it is, you can still cast it without red mana to get a reanimation spell. You could even run it in a black/blue deck to reanimate Mulldrifter :)

I wish they had instead made a rare and made it just you get a critter instead of "each player." now THAT sounds nice with a fleshbag.
the mana cost thing was a rav block mechanic. the idea was they were like multicolored cards but you could still get half of them if you only had one color. Others are azorius herald, patagia viper, flash con***ion, vigor mortis, steamcore weird, etc etc. Without bothering to check I'd guess each guild has two of them.
The interesting combination of triggers on crypt champion in particular makes in combo amusingly with saffi eriksdotter (you have to cast champion without spending .)

That Saffi combo is funny. Now to make it actually do something for you: Confusion in the Ranks. Steal the entire board!!!!
1)Have Saffi and Confusion on the board 2)cast Crypt Champion/put champion on the battlefield w/o paying {R}-put his death trigger on the stack 3)Put the champion's confusion trigger on the stack. 4)Put the champion's recursion trigger on the stack 5)Sac saffi-put her recursion trigger check on the stack 6)Let Saffi's recursion trigger check resolve 7)let the champion's recursion trigger resolve, bringing back saffi 8)put the confusion trigger on the stack for saffi 9)sac saffi-put her recursion trigger on the stack 10)let saffi's recursion trigger check resolve 11)Saffi's confusion trigger fizzles 12)let the champion's Confusion trigger resolve 13)let champion's death trigger resolve, he dies-this triggers saffi's auto recursion check for the champion 14)repeat step's 2-4 15)repeat step 7-13 16)repeat steps 14 and 15 ad nauseum.
It's convoluted and requires four colors but it works. =P
actually...now that I think about it any ETB/LTB trigger check would work(probably what you were thinking anyway): fecundity-draw your deck Vengeful Dead-you win....actually I suppose there's no point in listing beyond this one...

Unearth for everyone! Although it's a somewhat risky card that'd be one of my main reasons to spash red for a Zombie deck. He's just nuts with Undead Warchief: If you cast him for and return a Death Baron for example, you'll have a 5/4 double-striking, death-touching Champion, a 4/3 Death Baron and a 4/3 death-touching Warchief. And if you run Cemetry Reapers, you can even thwart my first statement and make sure that your opponent won't be able to return anything from his graveyard.

Nope. Read the card again. Crypt Champion has a CMC of 4, and he can only return creatures with CMC 3 or less.

Excuse me if I'm wrong, but as I read it, two of them make infinite sac/return combo by themselves.
Cast one without paying R, sacrifice it. Return other one, sacrifice it. Return first one, sacrifice it. And so on.
EDIT: Okay, you are right. I was looking on the card for fifteen minutes and hadn't notice something as trivial as that -_- thanks
Bone Shredder, perhaps? It's 3 cc and can destroy the creature your opponent puts into play.

Infinite ETB/death triggers with Phantasmal Image. Just let the image come back, sacrifice itself, then unearth itself with its own trigger (which works because the ability is not targeted and can chose the Image when it resolves). Works nicely in a Thraximundar deck.

Crypt Champion may be able to make red-black zombie tribal a thing (in casual at least). Turn 3 cast Putrid Raptor morphed, Turn 4 unmorph it discarding Shambling Remains, then cast Crypt Champion and bring back the remains. That is a pretty nasty start. After that, you can do stuff like attack, cast Deadapult, sac Shambling Remains or Viscera Dragger to it, unearth the remains or the dragger, sac it again, etc.

Ging this with Saffi Eriksdotter along with Blood Artist could easily win you the game in most cases:
1) Cast Saffi Eriksdotter 2) Cast Crypt Champion without paying R 3) As his EoB effects hit the stack, sacrifice Saffi and target him with her ability. The stack will then look like this: Saffi's effect>champion's first EoB effect>Champion's second EoB effect. 4) Return Saffi Eriksdotter to the battlefield from the graveyard and wait for Champion to return from the graveyard to the field. 5) Sacrifice her again in response to his EoB effects hitting the stack, and repeat the above steps appropriately.
With Blood Artist on your side of the field during this procedure, each round of repitition will bank you a minimum 2 life gain and your opponent 2 life loss. And since this effect can be repeated an arbitrarily infinite amount of times, so long as your opponent has no way of interrupting the sequence, you can essentially bring your opponent's life to 0 instantly or your life up to a ridiculous number, like 10,425,375,480,550 life.

Then cast any of those to recur Entropic Eidolon. Throw down a Macabre Waltz or a Disentomb and do it all over again if something (or somethings) die.
