i second that, Guest1850621195. this is really a nice and very cheap goodie. on top of that, it is even possible to cycle that card.

An amazing card from one of the most powerful blocks in Magic history. Combos well with creatures with "Comes into play" abilities, and even cycles!

An incredible card with a powerful effect. And cycling, too.

The first time i read this i thought it said "put that creature in your hand" and what attempted to justify it's mediocre effect over another card like Raise dead was the prescence of cycling.
*what AgeofThunder and Guest1850621195 said* >_> ... I mean, holy smokes its awesome! As Guest said, the combo potential of this is without bounds (kinda), and the Cycling ability just makes it go over the top. If you don't have a creature with cc 3 or less in the grave, you can still Cycle it to thin your deck and draw closer to the cards you want.

Very unique among common rarity cards with cycling; the non-cycling effect is freaking amazing.
It's got cycling, it's named 'Unearth'. http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=131005

So versatile and cheap. I actually love getting my Stillmoon Cavalier discarded. Even countered.

This isn't the highest-rated common in Urza's Legacy.
Think about that for a second.

Blood Vassal. If you've got two black mana, this and Entomb and Blood Vasal somewhere in your deck, you can cycle through them, adding two cards to your graveyard, 2 black mana whenever you need it, which then goes to the graveyard adding further to it...
Turn 1: Swamp Springleaf Drum 5 cards Turn 2: Swamp Entomb/Unearth tap, Blood Pet 2 cards Turn 3: Swamp tap +1, sac +2 mana, sac +1 mana, tap swamps for +3, altogether that ends up as a certain Phage the Untouchable.

incredible stinking card. just incredible... hypnotic specter ftw
Even though it is a one-drop reanimator, it is made quite less powerful when compared with Animate Dead. Swamp Island Ritual Entomb Emrakul Stifle Animate Dead
This + Eternal Witness + Bog Initiate + Ashnod's Altar=infinite black mana. Sure, it's a pretty crappy combo that's easy to disrupt, but it took me about three seconds to come up with that
I reread it three times and yes, that's what it says. Putting creatures on the battlefield for not good enough for you? Just cycle it away and get something better! At least it isn't an instant...

They allowed the Graveborn deck to have Entomb, Reanimate, Exhume, and Animate Dead....but they chose Diabolic Servitude over this when it came to the Urza Block card to use.
The creatures they chose were scarily similar to a high-profile tournament winning list, except in singleton, not in 4x.
I think that Graveborn is, forgive me, the 'skeleton' of what is almost the best possible list Reanimator can have. DREDGE can do better, but I would say that buying 4 copies of PDS: Graveborn gives you all the best cards you need for Reanimator.
I get that utility cards being returned can be great C.A. (looking at Bob and Tiago), but I think Tarmogoyf and Skaab Ruinator might be the only 'Bomb' cards I would prefer to Unearth than Reanimate. And tbh, if you are bringing guys back from the dead anytime earlier than Turn 5, without having to sac them at end of turn, then you are doing something broken, are already getting superb value, and should probably be courteous enough to end the game as quickly as possible.
The card is great. Just. Well, there are even greater ones that do the same thing. Reanimate, Animate Dead, and Exhume: between these 3, I don't see a situation where I wouldn't be happier holding them instead of Unearth.
The fact that a 4.6+ star card like Unearth can be arguably outclassed by so many cards just proves how broken messing with the graveyard is, lol.

When I discovered this card, I went straight to the interwebs and held my breath as I checked the asking price. I sighed when I saw that they were going for a whopping...
79 cents?
Within a week, my zombie deck didn't have a single creature above 3cmc.

Used currently in doomsday, maniac deck. Awesome synergy.
I want a reprint! With flashback instead of cycling! Oh oh, make the flashback cost = "sacrifice a creature" so I can combo with Bridge from Below!

The card that gave the us the great ability! I have a deck with Ball Lightnings, Groundbreakers, Fling, Seething Song, Soul's Fire and Bloodbraids, so much fun.

Turn one Dark Ritual + Buried Alive into Doomed Necromancer and any fatties of your choice. Unearth the Necromancer next turn, and use it to resurrect fatty by turn 3.
Not as fast as Reanimate, but you don't lose a shitton of life, either.

Does anyone else think the tombstones look like middle fingers?
That's a lot of incentive to run this card in B/G, especially since two of those can fetch the black you need for this. This is a "chump in a bottle", and sometimes also puts out monstrosities. Cycling is your worst case scenario!
They all work together as well, ramping/guaranteeing land drops, recurring card advantage. Beauty!

Turn 3: ATTACK! ATTACK! ATTACK!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Here's an idea of what this gets you:
Geralf's Messenger
Undead Gladiator
Phyrexian Crusader
Zombie Master
Lord of the Undead
Death Baron
Bone Dancer
Cemetery Reaper
And much more if you break out of zombie tribal.
That's the early game. Late game, it's still a 1-drop but can also be cycled for something more useful.
Yavimaya Elder
Eternal Witness (funny, because you get this card back when she hits if you want.)
