This card fails. If you control a black permanent, then you should have something that makes black mana, and therefore can afford Terminate

Obsolete, Terminate exists. The flavor is surperb, just about anything with Sarkhan flavor text rocks with draconic force. Its a shame however that one of Sarkhan's cool flavor texts was wasted on this card.

Don't undersetimate this card...have this in ur deck with Terminate giving you 8 copies to destroy 8 creatures... combine the two with Infest or the famous Volcanic Fallout to get rid of those token producers (Sprouting Thrinax) and other weenie creatures...Now its a massive killing and ur opponent is in a middle of a graveyard...

boo to most of you, this card is great in drafts, and if your setting up your cascade on a 3 mana spell like demonic dread and DONT want to hit a terminate then it fixs it, and ive also used this as a draw spell to net me two cards of a swans :D
Totally agree with holgir/Darklit_Gargoyle/God_of_Destruction this card is great.

Have you never heard of a multi color deck? or do you not believe in multicolor combos? Throwing these into a deck with Terminate makes a great creature destruction deck. If you haven't noticed the last what? 3 Sets? have all been geared toward making people use multicolor decks.

I like this card together with terminate..spellbreaker behemoth cannot do anything about this one..I use this in my grixis unearth deck. this one is a preparation to remove defenses unearth all my critters terminate and temper the defence and then attack.

Great for removing huge bombs with protection from black.

Terminate seems better in constructed most of the time. If you absolutely must have more removal, I guess this could work. In limited, it's usually excellent removal.

A very fine spot-removal to get around all that protection from black (and sometimes white) nonsense. Makes a great sidearm for any RB mass destruction deck.

Using it now in black/red creature destruction deck. Fairly necessary if your going to run 3 of the new Abyssal Persecutor coming out in Worldwake. Veinfire Borderpost is a black permanent that can be usefully used with it.

maybe sideboard for doom blade against other black, but not in main...

I love this card. It's red spot removal, so it can kill Great Sable Stag and all of those other pro-black creatures that green is so fond of. Also, when run with Doom Blade and terminate, you can wipe out anything (except Akroma, Angel of Wrath, of course).

Really like this one. I always have it in a black and red deck. But I admit that Terminate is better. Only advantage this thing has is that you can play it even you haven't been able to play swamp yet. And ya it kills White Knight too ^^

I want to love this card but it's just lost its luster after I realized that swamps were not black. Made sense a few years ago :/

For Chameleon Colossus. For everything else, there's Bolt!

Terminate is usually more reliable, but this gets round Pro-black

I always liked this card. I would definitely run it over Doom Blade, although over Go for the Throat is up for debate. Black creatures are just more common than artifact ones. And, duh, run it with 4x Terminates as well. Most of the time this should be your slightly higher CMC but less color-heavy Terminate copies 5-8.

You guys are missing the beauty of it. Play mono red. Run red-black split cards. Use red kill spells.

What are all of you smoking for rating this so low? This is a red precursor to Murder, and well worth the 3 mana spent.
