If you plan putting this into your mono-red deck, i advise using the oldschool version instead - given that you can play that one in your desired format, of course.

While the old school version of this card, Gauntlet of Might, is awesome in mono red decks, this newer version is so much more useful. Mirari's Wake + Shared Triumph rolled up into an artifact = much more playability. This card is perfectly balanced on mana cost for ability use. Just awesome. 5/5

Awesome. I don't think I need to say why.

My favorite thing about MTG is that each color is powerful in it's own way. Sure, blue is my least favorite color, and green is my favorite color, but there are some really good blue cards and some terrible green cards. It's not like there's one dominant color.
I don't know why I'm writing it here. I just wanted to say it.

This works fantastically in a mono-anything deck. Great card.

Strictly worse than Mirari's Wake in a multicolor deck.
Strictly better in a mono.

Do these stack? I want to use this in a mono blue deck. If I play more than one gauntlet of power and choose "blue" on both, will blue creatures get a +2/+2 and islands tap for 3 blue mana?

Yes, the effects stack.
No, colorless is not a color, and so the effects don't extend to colorless creatures or colorless mana production. Besides, it only gives a mana boost if a basic land is tapped.

Pricey, but youch. Not only gives you more mana, but makes your mana better spent by buffing what you summon with it. Besides, one advantage over Mirari's Wake is that you can say "I love the power glove. It's so bad" and your opponent will be unable to continue out of sheer lameness! No card effect can beat that.
'Course most other people put it in black decks so they can drain life for the win.

Yeah, it's strictly better in a mono deck because you CAN'T PLAY mirari's wake in a mono.\
Sucks if your opponent is playing your color, though.

It costs {5}, right? So, if your mana ramp style is by pushing out extra lands, then you can basically go from 5 mana available to 10 mana available the next turn (12 if you drop a land).
Really good, IMHO.

Do people even realize wake gives +1/+1 to all creatures you control? Seems most everyone i play with in EDH forgets that fact too...

Fun fact: if you set this to black, and your opponent lays a Reality Twist, your Forests will now tap for BB :P

@Mode: If you can play it in your desired format? How about get Gauntlet of Might if you can get it using your desired budget? $18 for one copy of a not-tournament-legal card, $40+ if you want the tournament legal versions is a little pricey regardless of if it's strictly better in a mono-red deck. I for one have to take a budget into concern when building decks; more than $10 for a single card is out of my league, and even $10 is crazy for most of my friends.

For those of you with mono-color EDH decks, you have found your Mirari's Wake.

You can't use it on colourless creatures/lands, because colourless is not a colour.

I wish I had a diamond glove. Especially if it gave me +1/+1 and a ton of magic.

Why not reprint this instead of Caged Sun? I know there is a technical difference but they are so similar that having both seems pointless.

There is one great difference between the two cards: Caged Sun lets any land produce an additional mana of the chosen color, while Gauntlets of Power lets only basic lands to produce an additional mana of the chosen color.
And for that, Caged Sun only costs {1} more to cast from this card. Not a bad deal.
Also, there are cards in Time Spiral's era wherein they give a future reading of what cards might appear. This card is one of them.

Every card in Time Spiral was a throwback to at least one previously printed card.
I thought a gauntlet was meant to be worn. How are your forces all gaining power from this? Do they just stand around and look at it or something? Oddly enough, Caged Sun is rated around 3.5 when it has a better effect for 1 more mana. How does that make any sense?
