Not quite Overrun for lategame alpha strike, but the fact that this can be used defensively makes it "not inferior" to the latter.

This feels like a combination of Mirror Weave and Mirror Entity but fixed. I just noticed this is also a sacrifice outlet for green or blue if you choose X as 0.

The synergy with Simic is nice. +1/+1 counters stay on your creatures no matter what number X is.
In any case, this card is 5/5 solely for RAVNICA GODZILLAS.
Flavor is so fun. Friends too small? Make them godzillas.
In Dragon's Maze, they are going to print Tokyo, and this card is simply going to destroy it.

The art has amazing perspective. Combined with the border, the card has a otherworldly feel. Oh, and Simic overrun is nice too.

Good with Elusive Krasis. If he has a few counters, and you plaay this for, let's say, 4, you're swinging in for 7-8 damage, not to mention your other guys are getting pumped as well.

If all else fails, you can cast this with X = 1 and evolve all the things.

Alright folks, Johnny challenge time. Recreate a Godzilla movie of your choice, including this card.
Godzilla vs. Destoroyah:
Imperiosaur with an Unstable Mutation is on the field, you've put a token copy of it into play with Kiki-Jiki, Mimic Vat, etc. A few turns ago, you suspended Soulblast with Jhoira of the Ghitu. You must face down the dread Defiler of Souls. Due to the token copy of "Godzilla Jr." being sacrificed, you can protect Imperiosaur. Enraged at Jr.'s death, Hunger of the Howlpack puts 3 +1/+1 counters on Imperiosaur. Defiler of Souls wants to scram now, but you've cast Frost Breath on it to tap it and keep it from blocking.
Assassinate time. The frozen Defiler of Souls is gone, shattering into oblivion.
Now it's time for Imperiosaur's dramatic death scene. Unstable Mutation is taking its toll, and Imperiosaur is going to die soon. But that's when the meltdown happens. Biomass Mutation pumps up Imperiosaur to incredible levels, and then Soulblast goes off. You Reiterate it, and the tremendous explosion of nuclear energy wins you the game.
This is something I love about Magic. You can tell a story through cards.

Most simic creatures are small without +1/+1 counters, so this change of p/t is more like another +p/+t for your team. At instant speed, this is both offensive and defensive.

If I get this in my prerelease pool, I'll find a way to play it. And I'm in Boros.

Easily splashable into Selesnia. Turn those 1/1 birds into something a little more menacing.

U/G isn't really my color scheme but still an excellent card. Just wish I could (somehow) flash a Godhead of Awe right after someone plays this for extra troll points ;)

Don't forget to use this in reverse to protect your pet monsters from Selesnya Charm and Intrepid Hero. Priceless.

@Curlie-Joe The key words in the spell are "become" and "until end of turn". The way it's worded leads one to believe that it changes creatures already out.
Conversely, we have Boros Charm where the second modr says "creatures you control are indestructable this turn".
So no, you gotta have 'em out before they become X/X.
This card won me many games at todays prerelease and the evolve counters stacking was a great plus too... 3-1-1 and it came up a lot. Definitely awesome.

Question: after this resolves, will creatures you cast be coming into play as X/X creatures until end of turn? Answer: Nope
@Vakyoom - Thanks for the post; that makes sense.
Still, feels like a good card to have for turning the tables on someone

Card doesn't say +x/+x counters, it says X/X until the EOT. But I can see this in an elf deck or something like it.

Thinking along purely Hybrid terms, this is brutal for Selesnya to use.
Although many others may prefer an Overrun effect for the trample and what would be a similar cost, the Instant speed helps and blue unblockables like in Dimir would be very worrying.
Plus I haven't even considered the defensive properties...
EDIT: OH GOD. REINS OF POWER FOLLOWED BY THIS WITH X AS 0.

Somewhere in the near future, someone will be Mindslavered with this in hand... only to have all of their creatures become 0/0s. I think the power of this card really strives in a token / swarm deck...I think it really caps off at about {5} or {6} mana...turning everything into 3/3 or 4/4 is pretty awesome. I also enjoy how it can be used both offensively on an alpha strike and defensively to beef up some blockers. There are plenty of cards in greed especially that will benefit from this effect, in particular Champion of Lambholt comes to mind.

This with 5 mana is a less colour intensive, non trample overrun as an Instant, which is pretty good I suppose. But you'll really need to invest to make your creatures huge. however if you were looking to push a large amount of damage through in standard cards available in Simic colours, I'd look towards sleep for all your alpha striking needs.

I played this in a token deck. I had 19 1/1 Myr tokens on the field, and i attacked with them. With my opponent being at 56(lifegain deck, ugh), he let it through. Then with this, i made them all 3/3 and swung for 57. WIN.

Out of the set, this combos insanely well with Master Biomancery landramp decks. All of your creatures can have low power/toughness with Biomancer in deck as even a 1/1 becomes a fairly beef 3/3. Crypt Ghast, Realmwright, Arbor Elf and Nimbus Swimmer round out your creatures, all of which only need 4 mana pumped into Biomass Mutation for a net increase in their power.
