If you know they have no counters of any sort (empty hand, you've checked their hand) it's a pretty awesome finisher. Sure, there are better finishers, but it's dramatic.

Man winning with this card is soooo satisfying (and dramatic)! Just put some Overmaster in your deck to make sure that it isn't countered. I use it in my dragons deck, it brings fear in the eyes of my opponent every time I start to count the total power of my creatures lol.

This card is too awesome. Especially since the additional cost is to sacrifice your creatures your opponent can't return them (Unsummon, etc.) to your hand or even burn them when you cast it. It's terrifying to see it coming even more terrifying if they can't do anything about it.

Actually, Flavros, Sudden Spoiling wouldn't work here. Sacrificing the creatures is a cost, and costs can't be responded to. For Sudden Spoiling to hose Soulblast, the black player would have to know that you're going to cast the blast the turn he casts the Spoiling - not exactly an easy thing to do.

I would like it better if it was a mythic rare and damage couldn't be prevented or redirected. That would be so much better, because unless you know your opponent has no cards in hand or something, one mistimed cast just kills you.

Wow, this is black as only black can be. The name "soul" blast, the effect "power at ANY cost", the... red?... Oh well, guess I sholud see it as some kind of muliti fling. Quite a dramatic finisher, just make sure the opponent doesn't counter it or pulls some other table turning trick out of the hat.
you know....if you combined this with the card that makes red sources of damage colourless sources, then you could target Emrakul with this.
and destroying Emrakul, the Aeons Torn with a colourless Soulblast sacrificing Ulamog and Kozilek would be like the exact same trick Yugi pulled on the Winged Dragon of Ra in the Battle City Tournament!

Why would you deal it to a creature (besides Stuffy Doll)? By turn 6 in a mostly red deck (besides maybe sacrificial, and it should be mostly red to reliably be able to pay the triple red) you should have at least a decent amount of creatures to at least take out a chunk of their lifetotals...unless your deck consists entirely of Mister Powerkreeper and his Pregnant Girlfriend and they replenish themselves

Nice finisher. Big risky downside is that you are screwed if this gets countered. Which also seems weird regarding flavor if you ask me. Why would the creatures die if their souls don't blast?
I liked the old artwork better with the "yay for annihilation"-guys in the background. But this one looks amazing as well with the faces of the souls in the flames.

Caged Sun, Moonveil Dragon, a few mana Myr and then this....
Practical use.
Pop before Day of Judgment resolves, use as a finisher, or in a rare situation ditch whatever you got to kill a creature.
