More ammo for mill/dredge decks! Too bad it exiles itself, otherwise things could get out of hand fast.

This is what wizards tie their Christmas trees with when they take them home.

You know, MaRo designed a similar card to this in his AMA column...

Often time you only need one spell to change the board, now you can do it double.

As if EDH wasn't already ridiculous enough when the Blue mages get to work.

Good for Commander. Bad for about all other formats.

Combos well with...cards.

Talrand, his invocation, this, plus any spell you want from an opponents graveyard, instant 5 drakes plus whatever the other spell does, very fun.

Does it have to be a color copy, or will grayscale do?

I'm sure this card has a place in some deck somewhere. However, for the life of me I just can't see a deck wanting to put a playset of a sorcery that costs 6cc and doesn't outright do -anything- into their decks. Could it be amazing? Sure. If your opponent just got finished casting Cruel Ultimatum and so did you. But the reality is, you need two targets--two fairly decent targets of which only one you can actually decide with some modicum of certainty what it will be before playing--to make this card do anything worthwhile.

It's powerful--but only situationally. That's not good enough for me.

Obviously, this isn't the most powerful card out there, but i love it. I traded my friend for a foil one, and now whenever i cascade into it in my Maelstrom Wanderer EDH deck, i get this wonderful feeling deep down in my tummy. One of my favorite commander cards in the set, 4/5

Great in a self-mill Worldfire deck. Bonus points if you can snag a Shock/Sign in Blood/etc.

Using this on your opponent's Entreat the Angels, like a pro. Of course this seems stupid because you get no angels, what you don't know is that the next card in their library is Noxious Revival, making you a pro.

my new favorite combo is playing this when I've got a guttersnipe soul bonded to a tandem lookout, and having a goblin electromancer helps sweeten the cost.

For each gutter/lookout combo you have paired when you cast this card yields you 6dmg and 3 cards, not to mention im usually re-casting cards like brimstone volley or traitorous instincts for more epic fun.

Adding a nivmagus elemental to the mix helps you to use up counterspells or "pay x" cards when you wouldnt normally be able to use them. As long as they cast, guttersnipe gets his proc and your elemental can eat the spell before it resolves for beefy counters.

Great card in EDH. There you'll rarely have a problem finding something worth stealing from an opponent's graveyard. It also provides three triggers for cards like Guttersnipe and Talrand, Sky Summoner.

The rumored Gatecrash card Enter the Infinite looks like a lot of fun to abuse with this card (if it's real)

First time I used this card was only a few days before I wrote this. With it I cast a Walk The Aeons and an opponent's Hex in a 6-player EDH game.

I like this card!

This card is simply a house in EDH! I usually don't care if all I can pull out of an opposing graveyard is a Lightning Bolt. Extra Supreme Verdict? Sure! Six mana to flashback my Diabolic Tutor? Worth it! Temporal Mastery somehow end up in my graveyard? Not a problem!

Ahhhhh, I remember this card fondly.

I went to the Pre-Release of M13, and got no REAL bombs, nothing to win me the game on it's own. So I went with Blue/Black because I had this, and Mutilate.

Didn't loose a single game that night. Mostly because of this card, Switcheroo, and Mutilate.

I remember distinctly that I was facing a Green/Blue deck, and it was looking in my favor somewhat... til he played Primordial Hydra. Frowned, I had no creatures anymore, and it was gonna be a 10/10 next turn and win him the game in two urns. Til I remembered he'd played Talrand's Invocation earlier in the match, and I had played Switcheroo. Played Spelltwine, stacked it so the Invocation went off first, and then took his Hydra, giving him a 2/2 flyer for a soon to be 10/10 trampler.

I enjoyed the pre-release, best sealed deck I'd ever made.

@ Kamishino, the only way that works is if you ignore the rules regarding casting spells that require multiple targets meaning if you don't have any creatures when you cast it, it can only target creatures your opponent or someone else controls.

This card is definitely more complex then at first it appears. So long as it could target spelltwine normally, in a pinch you can exile your own counterspell and target spelltwine. Spelltwine will finish resolving and the counter will fizzle as it's target is no longer legal and you still get to cast the opponent's spell. You can also pay additional costs like entwine and kicker. Only good in EDH decks with a decent amount of spells, but hitting two decent ones isn't typically very hard in your typical multi-player game, especially if you set up with mind grind or something along those lines.
