Yeah, I've targeted my own creatures with this. But I still love it.

Tailor-fit for Commander.

It's quite easy to see how this is much better for even just three players than two. For people looking to start Commander, who might appreciate this explained:

Instead of Wrathing everything and losing your own creatures, AND getting the board generally mad at you, you pinpoint a bunch of different targets and take out the most threatening one or two guys from everyone. In commander, it almost reads 'Each opponent sacrifices target creature'. Except that the rules team would burn me alive for that wording. But you get the point.

Remember the Iron Man movie? the part with the terrorists and the hostages? this is THAT. kill the things people want dead, leave the rest.

Fun fact- if you control a creature with hexproof, you can in fact target it with this, making it not hex-proof at all really.

One creature for one mana, pretty nice. However, Damnation will usually be the better choice since you do need exactly six creatures to target in order to even put this on the stack.

6 as the name, 6 CMC, 6 creatures dead.

I punch those numbers into my calculator; it makes a smiley face.

@Gelzo: One database, three fans I've found of Valve

When I punch those numbers into my calculator, it makes a smiley face.

i like this card because it is so cheap for what you get. but the ruling doesn't make sense. the ruling is that you have to target six different creatures or you cant cast it but that if you cast it and then one or more of those creatures become illegal targets, say because of sacrificing them for an ability, then hex will still kill the other creatures. wouldn't hex be countered on resolution based on the fact that it doesn't meet the requirements of the text?

I 5 starred this card for the flavor text.

Seems kinda goofy.. Not by ability of course, but this is the sort of goofiness that can ruin magic. If you just don't give a F**K that day, feel free to go home early next time and save this kind of BS for UN-GLUED..

Six shall be the number thou shalt kill, and the number of the killing shall be six. Seven shalt thou not kill, neither kill thou five, excepting that thou then proceed to six. Ten is right out.

Works well with any of the hunted stuff.
Works well if you have indestructible creatures.
Works well if your opponent unloads his hand full of creatures.

There is a real disadvantage to playing this card in paper magic versus something like Magic: Online, in that the other player is BOUND to notice the sweaty apprehension on your place when they have five creatures out.

That's interesting, that if one target dies prior to resolving the spell it still jobs the other five. Never realised that.

@ge_erskine: I think it's because the requirement is that six are initially targeted during the casting. As long as that's met that's fine. Well, my guess anyway.

Can't be cast on creatures with "Hexproof".

It's great in multiplayer or against swarm decks. Multiplayer 5/5, regular game 3/5.

I would give this 6 stars because 5 just isn't enough. But I can't :/

but if you view this symbol with Universalia font, it will reveal its true form :D)

@ge_erskine:

If a spell or ability has a specific number of targets that need to be met, at least one of them needs to still be a valid target before resolution.

If you cast Ashes to Ashes and your opponent does nothing, you will exile both creatures and take 5 damage. If you cast it and he bounces one of them, you still exile the other and take 5 damage. If both of the targets are gone before resolution, the spell is countered and you take no damage.

Terrific fun against Merfolk decks, if only because it offers you the opportunity to triumphantly shout

"FUCK THOSE SIX FISH IN PARTICULAR."

I wish that it said "destroy up to six target creatures" not so that it would be more powerful, but so that the rules text would be six words.
