a gilded lotus that got hit with -1 to its CMC and -1 to its ability

and good synergy with landfall. assuming you run out of land cards in your hand.

I'd say this card is pretty good for what it does. It not only can bounce 2 of the lands used to pay for it back to your hand for reuse, it also refunds the mana for those 2 lands for later use with it's tap ability, and if you haven't used your land drop for the turn, you can drop one of the bounced lands so you get an extra mana refunded from it's cost, meaning it, in essence, cost you only 1 mana to cast.

Not just synergy with landfall...landfall is the only reason to use it, otherwise too expensive.

This card is a must in Zendikar sealed.

i like the comparison, darkfury. the one i thought more appropriate:
a version of Sisay's Ring that produces mana that isnt colorless and boomerangs your lands (particularly the ones that buff you or your creatures when they enter the battlefield)

I think your all missing the true power of this card. It says "Return two land". if you don't have two land, nothing bad happens. So if you have a Sol Ring and City of Traitors, this card is just 4 for 2. Plus its amazing with cards like Realm Razer, which I expect to see a lot of in ALA-ZEN standard.

What an awful card. If you need to play a 4 drop mana source in your deck, your deck isn't very good.

its brilliant,

it costs 4, you return two lands to your hand, and you play a land,

you now have 3 mana at your disposal so it only costs 1, you get landfall,

it can be used for many things, its great

Ava_Adore, that's two. You shouldn't count your land drops. THat being said, I like this card, especially with Teatering Peaks.

UNBAN_SHAHRAZAD is clearly missing the point of landfall, that being your enchantments and creatures get stronger as you play more land. it basically gives you more land to play wich is the power of landfall; maybe try exploring the in's and out's of playing magic before you post a criticizing comment.

Bounce lands with comes-into-play effects. Now, if WotC would only reprint Azusa, Lost but Seeking.

Absolutely great card for mana acceleration. Tap 4 lands to play, return two of your tapped lands to your hand, and play one of them if you haven't this turn. Then you have 3 mana available this turn, and 6 next turn! Loads of fun in a shards artifact deck with Etherium Sculptor, you can play it for even cheaper!!!

Nets for 2 mana and 1 mana acceleration plus two more available landfall.
Plus multi-colored expansion.
Nets for 3 mana if you return and play a 'enters tapped land' but you get their bonuses too
I'll use it over rampant growth / growth spasm

yeah good card if at any time you are low on mana in your hand as it will definently accelerate your mana as well as insure your land drops.

This with Voltaic Key. Two mana of one color and one of another.

This card should be pretty good with Scars coming out and what not. 4/5 for not coming into play tapped and a uncommon card making mana of any color

Hey doesn't Progenitus cost two of every mana, have four of these and your nearly there. huh

i would much rather wait 1 more turn to play Gilded Lotus and get +3 mana next turn instead of +0 and some color fixing/ more lands to play. Though the lotus isnt standard.

I feel this card is underrated. I use it in my mill deck with hedron crab and halimar depths and roil elemental. Also, since it doesn't come into play tapped, yo can use it right away. Very handy when you have counterspells in your hand and don't want to tap everything for ramp or a big spell.

I frikin love this card. I didn't like the idea of returning two lands to my hand at first but it's really no big deal. The 4 mana cost may look a little steep but considering it can be used for two mana of any color, you're really only spending two mana on it. This card compliments landfall abilities fantastically. When used in combination with something like Hedron Crab, Explore, and Exploration, it's devastating to your opponent. I am definitely grabbing some more of these!!

I run a couple of these in my blue/black mill deck in the hopes of getting out Chandra Nalaar. Works pretty well, especially if I get both within 5 turns.
Only downside is that you return two lands to your hand, but just choose 2 of one color, that way you get it back immediately.

As someone who plays neither Extended nor Landfall,
I can't say I would want this.

I'd consider putting one in a Commander deck,
but that's about it.

Beautiful art, nonetheless.

If you run with a lot of landfall, there is no downside.

It's a mediocre version of Thran Dynamo that only works well in Landfall decks.

This card is amazing in EDH. Turn 4, cast this, bouncing a vivid and another land (to reset counters on the vivid) and then play the other land (if it CIP untapped) and then tap that for something near-strictly better like Sol Ring. Then turn 5 you have 7 mana! Massive ramp!

Put one in each of my mono edh decks. worth trying out, and bouncing lands isn't a terrible deal. put 2 tapped one's back and play a land assuming you didn't drop one for the turn.

This is a card that you really cannot criticize until you play with it. It ends up costing no mana and maybe even helping your mana base on the turn it is cast:

If you have 4 Forests:

Tap for {G}{G}{G}{G}, cast Khalni Gem.
Return two tapped forests to hand. In a landfall deck, with a card like Oracle of Mul Daya or Lotus Cobra play one or two of the Forests again. Retap the Forests for {G}{G} Then, tap the Khalni Gem for {U}{U}.

In many cases this is a free cast. Assuming you're usually to turn 3 or 4 when you play it, it's a good mid-game ramp and diversifier. Really, it's one of the few Zendikar block cards at its casting cost to get lands back in your hand.

And no, this is not a mediocre Thran Dynamo - it is a more specialized card that, in the right deck, can be more powerful than it. Comments like that are stupid because they fail to acknowledge the strategy and fun inherent in playing MTG. At first glance this does seem a bit like junk, but with Landfall or multiple lands played per turn effects, it's a beast.

I had a real fun deck combining this with Training Grounds and Filigree Sages. It was glorious infinite mana that wasn't hard to set up.

with 3x etherium sculptor, this becomes really cool.
Tap 2 lands, cast this, one mana in pool. return the tapped lands, one back (if you havent played one this turn), this taps for 2 more.
not really playable combo, but fun to think about.

this is great in commander with EtB lands & landfall.
