Cool card! you sure arent happy when somone exiles it if you cant get it into graweyard just play another. legend rule will destroy them both. you get 2 5/5 tokens.

@thrall: that works, but keep in mind that the tokens are also legendary, so you'll lose them both after this.

Play four of him in a deck with Pandemonium. If you already have a Tuktuk in play, just play the one in your hand anyway.
Great card.

At the launch party I had him in a deck. Nobody was willing to get rid of them until he had already plicked them about 7 times, and even then he then became a reasonable blocker while I bulldozed them with my Artisan of Kozilek

The tokens are legendary too. Great sadness for all the splintertwin ideas.
If only the token were not Legendary... But neverthless, it is a great card. 4/5

You're wrong the tokens stay long enough to trigger "is put into the graveyard" effects before they are exiled. Splinter Twin does work with this card.

Splinter Twin wouldn't work. The copy tokens get exiled, not put into the graveyard, so they wouldn't trigger the return effect.
@redcap: I don't think so. Yes, usually tokens that get sacrificed, killed, etc. trigger graveyard effects before they are exiled due to being tokens. However, Splinter Twin specifies that the token is exiled, with no in between step. If it said to sacrifice it, you would be right. Think of it this way: if a Sprouting Thrinax gets Path to Exiled, you don't get the tokens either.

I could have a Tuktuk The Returned and a Tuktuk The Explorer out at the same time right? I'm wondering for a goblin sacrifice deck.

6/15/2010 Both Tuktuk the Explorer and Tuktuk the Returned are legendary creatures. However, since they have different names, one of each may coexist on the battlefield without being affected by the "legend rule."
So, no they can't

That wouldn't work, because they'd both go the the graveyard, trigger, and both put legendary identical tokens into play, who'd both die to the legend rule.

Sacs to Bloodthrone Vampire on curve for a 3 CMC 5/5 Goblin Golem; this might be good for that new B/R vampire deck running around recently.

I love him. Run him in my goblin deck, and i'm always glad to get him out. Most people overlook the haste, but with a Quest for the Goblin Lord out or even a battle-rattle shaman he is quite effective. And as Ryney said, it's just so fun to use goblin grenade on him.

Except the goal isn't to get two 5/5s, the idea is to deal 11 damage with Pandemonium by casting a second Tuktuk. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that both tokens would need to Enter the Battlefield before the Legend Rule each other- meaning that it would activate Pandemonium.
Strap on an Umezawa's Jitte or a Sword of Fire and Ice, then dare your opponent to sweep the board. Very good card for multiplayer FFA where there are a lot of sweeps.

Heartless Summoning kills Tuktuk as he hits the field, and brings out the golem automatically. That's a 4/4 for one red mana, in case anyone is keeping track.

@d-101 This is a terrible card to play with Heartless Summoning. You'd have to splash black to play Heartless Summoning, which you're going to drop on turn 2, then on turn 3 you'd play Tuktuk for 1. You'd have already been able to get him out on turn 3 though without Heartless Summoning. It's not that either one of these two cards is bad, but they are bad together, because aside from Tuktuk the Returned being a 5/5, it has nothing else going for it. The best uses for this card are obviously Goblin Grenade for 5 mana, or, and I hate to say it, Skullclamp for 2 card draw and a 5/5.

Undercosted 5/5 - check. Board presence after a Wrath - check. Triggers Grave Pact and Vicious Shadows twice - check.
Excellent. And I agree with AlphaWolfs, this would look better as a DFC. Like Loyal Cathar, except less undead. Or maybe not. Does anyone know if being disintegrated then remade as a construct counts as being undead?

Since Tuktuk the Explorer will be in your graveyard when Tuktuk the Returned comes into play, Wort, Boggart Auntie will be able to fetch him back out of the graveyard. He will not kill his alternate version, they have different names...see rulings.
Also is conveniently usable with the Splicer cycle...

You could play one of them on turn 3 with Heartless Summoning, plus two other cards. Your deck should be made to do such a thing if you're playing those cards. The Goblin Grenade combo is obviously good (one of my favorite decks to play for a while), they're just two different deck types.

Wait...if you play a tuktuk when one is already in play, you have to sacrifice the old tuktuk because it's legendary and you get a 5/5!
But yeah, sweet repeatable damage that your opponent will never want to block. Combos with pumping it and goblin grenade.

Combos with: Wort, Boggart Auntie, Patron of the Akki, Quest for the Goblin Lord, etc (everybody knows goblin tribal well enough).

The coolest thing about him (when he is Tuktuk the Returned): metalcraft is way easier to maintain/attain. Think of Galvanic Blast, Kuldotha Phoenix, Molten Psyche, Indomitable Archangel, Dispatch, Puresteel Paladin...
Also is conveniently usable with the Splicer cycle...
