the card is definitely greatly playable and worth a black splash, but you know how long mono-red goblin tribal already ruled the boards before Lorwyn came out?

Oh only if it was red/black hybrid - goblins end up D - E - D ded all the time, and this is a great way to sneak in card advantage.

My fav goblin deck leader personally. Drop 4 mad aunties' and you can't lose! :D

A 3/3 with fear is nice to begin with. Throwing a free goblin regen into the mix is amazing for a goblin deck.

This would be fantastic just with the Disentomb a turn, but she's big and evasive enough to chip in on the beatings.

I like to get two boggart shenanigans out and sac ten goblins (goblin sledder or something) to deal 20 damage.

(Card Rating: 5.0) This card wins games by providing a nasty card advantage for goblin decks. Since she is legendary, having more than one in hand can be a dead card. Henceforth, I run only one of her in my casual black/red goblin deck. I also run 4 Goblin Matron to search her out as soon as possible. To ensure her safety, I include 2 Goblin Chirurgeon and 2 Mad Auntie. When all is lost and she ends up in my graveyard, I put her on top of my deck with Volrath's Stronghold. Even without goblins in your graveyard, she is still a relevant threat with a 3/3 body and fear. Honestly one of the best goblins in MTG. (Posted By: Misago)

I'm really glad this card exists! I was debating making a goblin EDH deck and I couldn't think of who I could use as my general. There aren't too many red/black legendary creatures out there (14 when I searched) so when this card came up, you can imagine how happy I was! Oh, and the fact that this card actually kicks some bootay makes it all that much better =)

I just got five Lorwyn tournament packs (that's 15 rares) and I already drew her twice.

Fate?

At the time this comment was posted this is the highest ranked Goblin on Gatherer. Her rating was 4.842. A close second was Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker. Cool beans.

Really allows goblins to play a more controlling role, with cards like Tarfire and Festering goblin.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who discovered her when looking for a general.
She's the best general, by the way. We don't win together much, but it's ridiculously fun.

To you guys on the border of making a wort EDH, do it. Goblin EDH is amazingly fun to play and can be very competitive, I just won a local tournament with mine.

O_O The baby goblins are so CUUUTE!

Oh, and don't forget to recur Nameless Inversion because, you know, it's a goblin.

nice in goblin decks that are willing to splash black

The baby goblins are kind of cute :) I want this for my Rb legacy goblin deck.

So I was looking up red/black legends to recommend for a friend's EDH general, and I found this. I first read it, and I was like "that's a weird effect that makes no sense." Then I realized I was reading the flavor text first.

Warren Weirding is absolutely brutal with her, every turn making someone sacrifice a creature for 2 mana is way too much fun

@Misago - If the stuff really hits the fan, you can use a second to bring your 'yarded Wort back.

@GengilOrbios - There are quite a few nasty black Goblin cards, so splashing black isn't a bad idea.

Why do I think the fear ability is so fitting for this card?

@KingXerxes

How does that deck even work? Wort doesn't seem to fit anywhere in there, and all the invokers seem useless, being too reliant on you drawing a Training Grounds, and even then, you'd need two or three in order for the mana cost of their abilities to be low enough that they'd keep up with even the worst of casual decks you'd find... Hunted Phantasm seems completely out of place. You don't get the goblins, your opponent does. And while that's helpful for Gempalm Incinerator, the incinerator only hits creatures and you're only playing two of them. If you really want to make a deck based around Wort, you should put in things that actually work with her: goblins that frequently hit the graveyard.

We all know Wort is good with Tarfire and Nameless Inversion, but there are other things that would work well in the deck. Goblin Grenade is a one-cost 5-damage spell, at the cost of losing a single Goblin, which Wort will just bring right back. Skirk Prospector is good as well, because you can sacrifice Goblins for extra mana, and bring them right back with Wort on the very next turn. And since we're using Skirk Prospector, it's a good idea to also use Ib Halfheart. If the game goes on too long, you can just tap all your lands, sacrifice them to Ib to turn them into Goblins, then sacrifice all of those to use whatever x-cost burn spell you choose. If you've been playing goblins throughout the whole game, you can easily drop a 14 or 15-damage Fireball on your opponents on turn five or six.

It was an OK idea, but it just doesn't seem all that plausible that you'll win with the deck.

I prefer Wort over Krenko for EDH, because black gives me access to so much good stuff like tutors, Boggart Mob, Frogtosser Banneret, and the graveyard recursion makes guys like Siege-Gang Commander and Gempalm Incinerator even more broken.

I use Wort for my EDH goblin commander, but Krenko is the chap that I tutor for most often. He is such and amazing enabler for swarming with goblins :)

Sorry wort fans but krenko and kiki-jiki are infinitely better goblin generals.
