I've given it a home... in my heart.
In another block, my friend, you might have been broke like a joke. But yeah, you rock.

does this thing affect mana abilities, and/or equip costs? i think i figured out a 2.0 infinite mana combo with it if its possible

it's an amazing card, you guys are just putting it down lol. it can make all your artifact dreams come true by making more mana options in each turn, letting you get a TON more artifacts on the field. with 3 of these bad boys, you can reduce a 6 cost card to 3 and a 3 cost card to 0!

Combine with Mind Stone for some major acceleration.

Just a couple of these guys turns the Obelisks into absurd mana acceleration in Shards block. I have a lot of love for him, he has the potential to really speed up the often-tragically slow Esper control deck.
And he's an artist. Gotta give him props for that, too.

free borderposts! I just love this guy and he is only a common with decent stats.

A shame that it only reduces colourless mana, it would be absolutely epic if he could lower blue too :P
what are you talking about free borderpost they dont cost 1 thats an ability this only effects the cost of the card

This effect doesn't change the mana cost or converted mana cost of an artifact spell. Rather, it reduces the total cost of the spell, which is the amount you actually pay while playing it. The total cost takes into account additional or alternative costs. (from the "Shards of Alara FAQ")
So yeah, "free" Borderposts.

it is a great card, an auto 4of in any artifact deck, grim popet for 3, a reaper king for 3, free borderposts, cheap oblisks, in general, awesomeness

Just found a lovely little combo with Cloud Key. If you're playing an artifact deck, cost reduction is much more valuable than extra mana. If Etherium Sculptor is an auto 4of in an artifact deck, consider at adding Cloud Key to the mix to speed things up even more.

Very nice card in all esper decks, also works wonder with mirrodin block.
The best thing to ever happen to Esper! Loads of fun with Khalni Gem to accelerate mana. If only I could put more than 4 in my deck, i surely would!

Mind-warpingly useful. The Transmuter might be the number one artifact enabler around today, but the Sculptor is really the unsung hero of my artifact deck. Sort of absurd that it's a common, but I'm not complaining.

There are a few strategies I have used with this card that are just evil, but make me just so happy. 1. The first strategy I ever used this for was for basic acceleration, which, when used in junction with some of the other shards artifacts, obelisks, just about any sphinx, it worked to just scary lengths. 2. The current use I have for this card is a mix of acceleration and trickery. Using a deck based around master transmuter I can first of all accelerate my deck since he likes to find a way to my opening hand, and after I get my transmuter and sphinx summoner to fetch me some creatures, have a Prophetic prism on the board to bound with a couple of these Sculpters out and TA-DA, it's magic on with the free cantrips whenever I transmute a creature out.
All in all, an unbelievable common card with SSSSSOOOOO much potential for just straight abuse in an esper or artifact deck at all. The only thing that makes me cry about him and all my esper artifact friends is that they aren't gonna be able to see type 2 play when Scars comes out, but we can't all have what we want. On one final note, turn 3 lodestone golem only to be made cheaper fairly soon. Run away All of you.
Quick question here. Does he lower the cost of all artifacts including the ones in your library or no? For example if I use Trinket Mage could i search for Prophetic Prism . Thanks in advance.

Two sensei's divining tops, and you now have infinite storm.
Counts as double towards Affinity and lets you get a Master Transmuter onto the tap a turn earlier. 5/5

@saphireblade:
No, only reduces the actual casting cost of the card when you cast it from your hand. You wouldn't be able to tutor a Prophetic Prism because you have an Etherium Sculptor in play.
Getting these guys in my opening hand is always something I love. Turn 1: Arcane Sanctum Turn 2: Island, Etherium Sculptor Turn 3: Island, Etherium Sculptor, Master Transmuter Turn 4: Bounce a sculptor for Darksteel Colossus (Opponent scoops if not playing white.) 5*

@Saphireblade: No, it lowers what you pay for the artifact, not the actual converted mana cost

So basically you can create an artifact deck with max creature CMC of 4, have 4 of these in your deck, and basically create an army of free artifact creatures backed up by at least one Steel Overseer, with draw card spells in just to pump up myself up further and maybe draw a Darksteel Forge that now costs probably ? I can have a mono-blue weenie deck that's the best of both worlds.

Also lovely interaction with Stormscape Familiar, Lodestone Golem and Sapphire Medallion. You can also add Sphere of Resistance For some total control.

A similar combo exists with Thought reflection, Sensei's Top, and Etherium Sculptor.
Draw infinite cards for 0 mana seems kinda good.

well, *i would find it funny anyway :)
And Ethersworn Canonist cost
and Isochron Scepter cost
and Sol RIng cost
Yeah, making Artifacts cost less is always a good thing
I've owned a copy of this for like 2 years.
