does this reduce the casting cost of buyback costs? (i.e. capsize)

Actually I don't think it does lower buyback. Maybe the 1 in capsizes printed cost but not the buyback. If you want to reduce buyback costs use memory crystal.

@DacenOctavio Interesting interaction with...spells that get their cost reduced by Sapphire Medallion? O_o

@XTwistedsoulX: actually, it works. The rule about determinating what a spell costs is that you first add at its mana cost every addictional cost, then you apply every cost reduction. So if I want to play a Capsize with buyback and with 4 medallions in play, the calculation goes: 1BlueBlue + 3 (buyback) - 4 (medallions) = BlueBlue.

Those medallions are a lot of aceleration, in that if you cast 2 spell of the appropriate color is like that they add 2 to your mana pool for each medallion. They need a reprint! I've already bought the playset of the blu one, now I'm looking for the red one...!

These would make great core set reprints. A shame that the development team thinks they're too strong, though.

This makes Snapcaster Mage a 1 drop. That's insane.
