I believe that for players like me who have built an Esper or blue artifact deck this guy is awesome because untaping artifact flyer's is handy or whatever, "tutoring" your library for artifacts is handy too and turning all your flying artifacts into 5/5 flyers is great!

Tezzeret, The Seeker is by far an auto include 4 of if your deck is based around artifacts. To top it off he's been in a top8 pro tour deck so he's Very Very good, and worth buying if you haven't already. I'm predicting a deck that abuses esper and arifacts soon in the upcoming Meta. so get your copies Now while they are still cheap-ish

I agree, great card.
First ability: untap artifact lands or sigils or whatever for at least 2 mana. (like garruk)
Or attack and untap 2 blockers, or improve any artifact tap-combo's...
His third ability can be used the second turn already, just play tezzeret at the right moment and the game is yours!
And the second ability makes this a bomb agains any deck, for 5 mana you get any artifact you can imagine with CMC 4 or less, great for combo's or you can even fetch ornithopter or an artifact-land for 0 loyalty...
Except for garruk I think this is the greatest walker of the 9.

tezzeret is an interesting planeswalker, but he is far from the strongest. even with his final effect he's not even the coolest planeswalker for artifacts. look to Elspeth knight-Errant, her final effect makes all artifacts you control indestructible, which is much more powerful than just making them 5/5. look for Lithiana, she can bring all your dead artifact creatures, as well as all of your opponent's dead creatures, with her finisher. if you're looking to cripple an opponent solidly, look at Ajani Vengeant's final effect, which kills an opponents summoning power by destroying all the lands they control. or look my favorite planeswalker, Jace, who's final effect can remove as much as 1/3 of an opponent's deck to their graveyard, more than likely getting rid of more than one key card. all in all tezzeret is a decent planeswalker, but he ranks about 6th in usefulness and power.

Tezzeret is also th best for a Transmuter deck. For just tapping and one blue, you can bounce artifacts up and back down to your hand, and use Tezzeret to untap them, and do it agian.
For instance:
Master Transmuter (#1): Tap, pay 1 blue- bounce an artifact from your side of the field to your hand, and throw down Sphinx Summoner (can even be the same you returned from your hand).
Sphinx Summoner: Go grab Magister Sphinx from your deck, throw it to your hand.
Master Transmuter (#2): Bounce Sphinx Summoner, throw down Magister Sphinx.
Magister Sphinx: Your opponent is now at 10.
Master Transmuter (#3): Bounce an artifact, throw down Sphinx Summoner to go grab Parasitic Strix.
Master Transmuter (#4): Bounce Sphinx Summoner for Parasictic Strix.
Parasictic Strix: You gain 2, opponent loses 2. They are now at 8.
Tezzeret: Untap 2 Master Transmuters.
Master Transmuter (#1): Bounce Parasitic Strix up, then back down. They will now be at 6.
Repeat last step with second Master Transmuter. The will be at 4.
***THIS ONLY TAKES 6 BLUE MANNA***
**THIS CANNOT BE COUNTERED BY COUNTER SPELLS**
Also, if you have Sludge Strider on the field, you can pay 1 colorless whenever an artifcat leaves or enters play to gain 1 life, and your opponent loses 1 life.

Two words: Amazing synergy. Tezzeret with two Master Transmuters is extremely powerful. And when you have master transmuters and an almost Diabolic Tutor, you win. You don't necessarily even need to use his second ability as long as you have a Sphinx Summoner at your disposal, and if you don't, tutor him into your hand. The only problem with him is his ultimate ability. It's nowhere near as powerful as most of the other planeswalkers' ultimates. Sure it beats out Ajani Goldmane's ultimate, but all of the other ultimates are far better. That being said, being able to untap two master transmuters is pretty ultimate in itself.

tezret is good in artifact decks, and i even have one, which is why i want him, however, that is all he is good for, artifacts. Unless your deck is based entirely around artifacts, tezret might as well just be a punching bag for yor opponent. It also makes him hard to put in constructed decks. but, if in an artifact deck, tezret will do you much good. untaping artifacts helps a ton. the tutoring ability isnt that great, to get any good artifacts, he would have to lose a lot. his final ability is very good, it might as well just say, whipe out your opponents defense and finish them. and his last ability is easily playable, turn 2 (3 if you want to keep tezret out there) and you have a massive army to kill your foes. great card, but only for artifact decks.

Tezzeret is one of the more interesting planeswalkers; certainly, he has the most narrow focus of any of the currently-printed walkers, and properly supported he's arguably the most useful.
+1: Untap up to two artifacts. Amazing. This is THE reason to play him. Staying Standard legal, this allows him to manage a pair of Master Transmuters. In addition, a standard legal artifact deck is probably using Obelisk of Esper or Fieldmist Borderpost, so you can play him for essentially 2, just like Garruk. Going outside of Standard, things like Grim Monolith or (if you're playing straight Vintage) Time Vault are simply appalling with this ability.
-X: Search your library for an artifact with converted mana cost equal or less than X and put it into play. Again, a very powerful ability. It weakens Tezz greatly, but pulling out a Master Transmuter, Sphinx Summoner, or Master of Etherium can be an enormous coup. Going outside Standard, the possibilities are endless. I've had games where my board position was a Master T and a Tezzeret with 5 counters; using this ability allows one to grab, for example, a Sphinx Summoner. Playing it outright lets you grab Sharuum the Hegemon, who let me grab Magister Sphinx when I bounced Sphinx Summoner back to my hand with Master T to play Sharuum. The net change: I gained 2 5/5 flyers, lost Tezz, and set my opponents life to 10. For six mana. And I can tutor another creature next turn. This ability is easy to waste, but with the crazy comes into play effects that Esper is rocking right now, it can be game-changing.
-5: Artifacts you control become 5/5 artifact creatures until end of turn. His weakest ability. I HAVE used it, but it's fairly rare. The problem is that a Tezz being played in a Standard-legal Esper deck already has access to big artifact creatures. Master Transmuter ensures that big stuff gets in cheap, and in some cases this ultimate makes your creatures WORSE (hello, Master of Etherium!). The upside is that the weakness of this ability makes me, at least, less likely to hesitate to use his -X ability, which is, as stated, game-changing. In a non-standard legal deck, this can be great-- all of your non-creature utility artifacts (!including ARTIFACT LANDS!) are suddenly 5/5s.
Synergies Works best in an artifact heavy deck; he's the ultimate "support" planeswalker. He doesn't do anything on his own, but he makes your artifact decks so much stronger. Synergizes best with Master Transmuter; I also enjoy using him with mana-generating artifacts.
Rating Solid 5/5. Exactly what I think a planeswalker should be: he's not fighting the war himself like Chandra, and his narrow focus means that I think he's going to get a ton of play, even after Shards rotates out.

I have a question regarding the last ability of Tezzeret. The artifacts I played the last turn (say a simple Kaleidostone), will have or not summoning sickness? I know I can tap artifacts the moment they come into play. But if they "transform" into creatures, is the summoning sickness on?

Thought i might mention the Tezzeret+Time Sieve+Open the Vaults combo, no need for a crusty old Time Vault. his second ability can pull you a Time Sieve the turn you summon him, from there you can take turns till you have an open the vaults handy, have added enough loyalty to Tezzeret with his first ability untapping Fieldmist Borderpost and Obelisk of Esper, and have sacced enough artifacts to allow Tezzerets third ability to win you the game. This is a bit vulnerable to quick creature swarm decks, but once u get your combo rolling your opponent wont get another turn to respond.
@yasin757: Tezzerets third ability is not bad. Gaining your entire deck worth of artifacts you have put into your graveyard as 5/5 creatures is not bad. even if they don't have flying, only 4 need to hit your opponent. If you are able to get a Glassdust Hulk onto the field prior to using Tezzerets third ability, the Hulk alone will be enough.
I am unsure of one thing though. Does the making all artifacts 5/5 affect artifact creatures such as thopter tokens, or Master Transmuters. Do they to become 5/5 as well, or is it only Artifact type, creaturer excluded?
edit* I have been playtesting this deck for a few weeks now, the 5/5 swarm combo is pretty consistent on about turn 11, your opponents turn 5. Tezzerets second ability has saved me many times, getting him out 4th turn, and removing 1 loyalty for a Pithing Needle, preventing wrath type spells from ruining my plans. if you time the start of your Time Sieve combos, waiting till your opponent has low or no land to tap, then there is nothing that can stop you from dropping pain nuggets... eventually. That is, if you even get to that point, too many times i have had Tez and a time Sieve with 1 or 2 Font of Mythos/Howling Mine out, and my opponent has scooped before i can even have any fun.

Having just constructed my own esper artifact deck (the only big card I'm missing being Sen Triplets), it's easy to see how powerful Tezzeret is in the right deck. I already have a pair of Unbender Tines due to their awesome utility (more mana, or pseudo-vigilance, or most importantly: more transmutes), so adding in another 2 untaps is very powerful and very versatile.
His second ability is, in my opinion, his most useful: deck search. The main issue I have with the deck is that if I don't start with a fabricate, transmuter, scourglass or sphinx summoner I'm praying for a draw of one of them (the transmuter to bring virtually anything into play, the fabricate and summoner for search abilities, and the scourglass for battlefield control). Tezzeret does the job of fabricate himself (plus he puts it into play to boot), and can get any of the other three cards within 1 to 2 turns of being out should you badly need them.
His major ability, as has been mentioned, isn't the most gamebreaking major out of the planeswalkers - but it's still not bad. Turning artifacts into artifact creatures with 5/5 isn't all that bad, but what I really like it for is its synergy with Sharding Sphinx. Sharding Sphinx makes it all too easy to get out nifty 1/1 flying thopters, and Tezz is capable of ramping them up to flying behemoths. Whilst the only time I've ever used it is when the match was already beyond doubt and I wanted to wrap things up, I can see how it could seal the deal in a close one if you have enough thopters that will get through unblocked.
All in all, a solid planeswalker who should be auto-included in any artifact deck.

Ha! Turn One: Artifact-Land Turn Two: Artifact-Land, signet Turn Three: Artifact Land, Mishra, artificer prodigy Turn Four: Artifact Land, A few more signets(no net mana loss for the turn due to mishra doubling them),Gilded Lotus(+1 from mishra), tezzeret(untapping the lotuses), sphinx summoner(+1 from mishra)(summoning another summoner and anything from darksteel colossus to platinum angel
That is the new casual deck I have been playing. Since Tezz goes off next turn, I usually swing for about 69-79 on turn five, which will often kill at least three other players at the table. If you leave a few lands and a lotus untapped and attack for about 49 or so instead, you can play a platinum angel after the attack, which is often a wrecking since people use most of their removal on the lethal attackers. Very fun deck.

When I see Tezzeret, there's a voice in my head saying: Mycosynth Lattice, only if you have mana generation, few of Silver Myr or other stuff like Arc Dagsson or Master Transmuter, of course. If lacks of mana, or time, well, why don't try out March of the Machines instead? Tezzeret gives you a lot of possibilities, a really good option for an artifact deck. You can also try out Darksteel Citadel,... just 4 artifacts on game are enough to make some noise...

Diving for more land doesn't draw down his life on the 2nd ability, and you only need one more counter to crush after a Damnation. In a Soprano's flavored Superfriends concept, he's the guy you're not looking at with Nicol drawing the heat, or Sorin and Chandra keeping the crowds down in between Damnations brought out by Liliana. I run a blue/black arcbound deck with two tezzerets, and i wanted to bring up another combo using tezzeret's untap abillity: if you use a lot of atrifact creatures, have a Steel Overseer and at least 2 Voltaic Keys in your deck. Tap S. Overseer to put +1/+1 counters on all your artifact creatures, then use the first voltaic key to untap him, and retap for another +1/+1 counter. Repeat with the second Voltaic Key to get a third round of counters and (hopefully you see where this is going) use tezzeret's +1 to untap both keys and repeat the process 2 more times. That totals to FIVE +1/+1 counters on every artifact creature you control, and you can repeat this every turn. Of course, this makes his -5 pretty useless, but who cares? The rest of your creatures should be unstoppable by this point.

The thing that needs to be seen here, is that while people are saying Tezzeret is a good card, but only for Artifacts, or that Tezzeret is bad, except for Artifacts, the whole point of Tezzeret is to make your artifact decks BROKEN. Sure, he does nothing on his own, but then, why should he? He's a supporter, as all Planeswalkers really should be. He doesn't do well on his own, or in most decks, granted, but he's not meant for most decks. He is MEANT FOR ARTIFACTS.
I have seen him run for turn three with Time Vault. Numerous times. Consistently. Sure, he can't blaze a creature, mill for twenty cards, destroy lands, or summon your opponents' dead creatures, but he does help your arti-lands blast through multiple Savannah Lions and Serra Avengers. Indeed, he's a utility card...and a very good one at that.
Ah, yes, Arkive, but it's not reusable, unless you're using huge-cost cards that could easily be avoided with 2, maybe 3 mana. And even then, it's more reliable to use the Key, since Tezzey is a bit costly for turn 1 wins. But that's just me. Plus, why are you saccing artifacts? They need to be in play to become 5/5 creatures, don't they? Or have I been playing my Tezzeret wrong all this time? Oh, and Pithing Needle doesn't stop spells. It stops activated abilities, and I don't know too many cards that have abilities like Wrath effects that are really worth worrying about. Sorry pal, but your ideas are too new-playerish to really be effective. Or maybe you just play with people of low skill. Either way, turn 11 is way too late to really be thinking you'll still win the game in any real sort of Magic game.

I think Tezzeret's CMC is a little too high, but other than that, he's one of the most fun Planeswalkers to run with. While most Walkers have abilities that work well together, the enormous synergy they could give him to balance out being so deck-dependent makes him tons of fun to build around and use. Grab Tezz and Fabricate or Treasure Mage out a Mycosynth Lattice and go to town (or wait a few turns and put it in play with his -X). And assuming you can get him on the field and protect him, the ability to generate sustained card advantage by tutoring AND slip cards into play under counterspells should never be overlooked or underestimated.
Plus, he has a special place in the heart of my inner Johnny as the only (to my knowledge) Planeswalker capable of being used as part of an infinite mana loop. Here's a hint: one of the critical pieces is mentioned in MaRo's article here: http://www.wizards.com/magic/magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/mm/120

I of course am getting the artifact lands, Ornithopter, Master of Etherium, etc. I have always been a Blue player, but artifacts have interested me as well. This of course will make my friends who play hate me, one has stopped playing for a while now that I have a mono Green Eldrazi ramp deck. "Didn't he say he liked Blue, and Artifacts?" And the second ability makes this a bomb agains any deck, for 5 mana you get any artifact you can imagine with CMC 4 or less, great for combo's or you can even fetch ornithopter or an artifact-land for 0 loyalty...
Except for garruk I think this is the greatest walker of the 9.
(Elspeth is to slow and Sarkhan to aggro for vintage or legacy)
Also, if you have Sludge Strider on the field, you can pay 1 colorless whenever an artifcat leaves or enters play to gain 1 life, and your opponent loses 1 life.
now he wont dare play my esper deck
Synergies
Works best in an artifact heavy deck; he's the ultimate "support" planeswalker. He doesn't do anything on his own, but he makes your artifact decks so much stronger. Synergizes best with Master Transmuter; I also enjoy using him with mana-generating artifacts.
Rating
Solid 5/5. Exactly what I think a planeswalker should be: he's not fighting the war himself like Chandra, and his narrow focus means that I think he's going to get a ton of play, even after Shards rotates out.

Turn One: Artifact-Land
Turn Two: Artifact-Land, signet
Turn Three: Artifact Land, Mishra, artificer prodigy
Turn Four: Artifact Land, A few more signets(no net mana loss for the turn due to mishra doubling them),Gilded Lotus(+1 from mishra), tezzeret(untapping the lotuses), sphinx summoner(+1 from mishra)(summoning another summoner and anything from darksteel colossus to platinum angel
If lacks of mana, or time, well, why don't try out March of the Machines instead?
Tezzeret gives you a lot of possibilities, a really good option for an artifact deck.
You can also try out Darksteel Citadel,... just 4 artifacts on game are enough to make some noise...
Hey man, just wanted to address your third point about his -5 ability.
Don't the artifacts he turns into 5/5 creatures keep their abilities? Making Master of Etherium better!
Just making sure. Otherwise they his ability would have to read, "...and lose all other abilities...". Right?
Supertype "Planeswalker" overrides all other types. Yes, his enhancements technically make him an "artifact" but the walker spark negates all other classification.
On a mechanical note; it would suck if your opponent could Shatter and or Steal Artifact him.
+1 double untap
-1/X put affiliated things into play
Ultimate pump affiliated things so you can crash your opponent.
He costs 1 more than garruk and has 1 more starting loyalty, WotC did this to keep artifacts slow.
I could be wrong though.
P.S. Anyone else think he kinda looks like Qui-Gon?
Jace, the Mind Sculptor.
apparently, Blue is a good color. if this is news to you, play more Magic. :p
Blue is a good color in vintage because the power nine are either blue or artifacts, which happen to work best with blue cards. The same reason tolarian academy is ridiculously broken but gaea's cradle is merely OP.
After Worldwake, you can dig out an Everflowing Chalice for free , bounce it with your Master Transmuter and smack a Magister Sphinx on the table. These types of moves happen alot in an Esper EDH deck at least. So the second ability is, in my humble opinion, tight as hell.
