This is an awesome card. Makes playing 5 colour decks a breeze. And its a 2/1 so it can attack.

Would be MUCH better as a 1/2 or a 0/3 or a 99/99. Oh well, still a useful creature.

disagree on the usefulness of a big butt on this card. For reasoning, see Mike Flores' thoughts on Lotus Cobra, Wild Mongrel, et cetera.

Orochi Leafcaller is better and its common so unless u need it to be elf i'd just have that

Strawhat, you forget that this is a druid, while the Orochi Leafcaller is a shaman...though they accomplish the same roles in decks of those tribes, they are, in fact, of those tribes (and two other, more relevant ones, as well :P).

Ok Noobs Heres How It Is, Joiner Adept Is Much Beter Than Orochi Leafcaller Because First Off You Can Only Run Four Of Theese And If Your Using Her For The Right Reasons You Need Her Early Game But Unlike Orochi You Can Fix Your Mana Pool Accordingly Assumiung You Dont Get Her With The Shaman You Need Forests And If You Dont Have Him In Play Your Fusion Elemental Progenitus Or Whatever Are Total Dead Cards And Pyroclasm And Wrath Pick His Ass Right Off. The End

While it's true that orochi leafcaller only allows you to filter green mana sources into other colors, so the joiner adept is more flexible with respect to any lands that do not produce green (especially those that have some other effect that does not produce mana at all), joiner adept has no effect on non-land sources of mana, while orochi leafcaller will happily filter any green mana from llanowar elves, elvish archdruids, etc. I'd say that their mana abilities are really pretty comparable, but, in the greater scheme of things, 2/1 > 1/1 and elves > snakes, so the joiner adept is worth the 1 mana extra.
Note, however, that Sachi, Daughter of Seshiro works really well with Orochi leafcaller, it pumps Orochi's toughness to 2 and allows Orochi to tap for GG which Orochi can then filter to any other color. Sachi does nothing for joiner adept, and joiner adept can't even filter the mana Sachi can produce by tapping herself. On the other hand, there are TONS of elves which either tap for an amount of mana based on the elves you control or allow other elves to tap for mana, so there are ways to get Joiner adept to help produce mana, but Joiner adept still won't be able to filter those sources of mana. Of course, all those creatures that allow lands to untap work much better with joiner adept.
Really, they are both very good at their own things and they are both very good filters, but they work differently and your deck has to be made to work with whichever of them you use.

great for any multicolored deck using green, i prefer this art to the mirrodin art
Pros: Can attack Does not make landwalk devestating against yourself Its an Elf
Cons: Easier to kill does not help domain does not make the rare lands from Zendikar function

More susceptible to removal than Prismatic Omen, however Joiner Adept makes your lands less vulnerable to land destruction that targets a specific type of basic land, such as Boil or Acid Rain. On the other hand, Prismatic Omen is infinitely more useful in a Coalition Victory deck. Lastly, in the debate between this and Orochi Leafcaller they both have their uses. In a five-colour deck though i would use this, since its lets you filter any colour of mana essentially (if you have an island + forest in play with Joiner, you have 2 of any colour, with Orochi you only have {U} and one of any colour at your disposal.)

For my opinion on the debate between this and Orochi Leafcaller is as follows:
This is worth two mana to play to DOUBLE your mana. Orochi Leafcaller, on the other hand, only CONVERTS mana. The combos from this thing are nigh endless, as is shown below.
Joiner Adept:
Turn one: Arbor Elf, after one Forest. Turn two: Play a second Forest, then this. Arbor Elf untaps one of the Forests you paid for Joiner Adept, which is now worth TWO mana BY ITSELF. Play Lotus Cobra with it. Turn three: Cast Explore, play two Forests. TOTAL mana on field at this point is TEN, 2 from Lotus, 8 from Forests, using Arbor Elf to "pay for the Explore". Play Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger.Ta-da! Turn three, four lands, a 7/6 Trample, and a grand total of 12 mana BEFORE playing your next land on your next turn, AND a mana seal on your opponent. Oh, right. Harrow would be great here, since both enter play untapped. And Lotus Cobra activates two more times there, as well. So, for the cost of ONE Forest tapped and sacrificed (three mana), you get an EXTRA 2 Forests (six mana) and Lotus Cobra (eight mana total). Use five of that for Urabrask the Hidden, and then play whatever else is in your hand. Effectively, this one card makes ANY Elf deck into an amazing FIVE COLOR DECK! Oh, and remember that 10 usable mana? If you don't feel like dragging the game out either, how does a turn three Progenitus sound?
Orochi Leafcaller:
Convert Forests into any other mana. That's it. Turn one, still one mana. Turn two, still only two mana. EDIT: Yes, I have remembered a card that taps for a green mana for every elf in play. Oh, wait. Joiner Adept is an Elf, and works just fine with an Elf deck.... Never mind that.
You get the point. People seem to forget about this card's "Yeah, I'm doubling your mana on turn two!" aspect, which is now even more overpowered with a TURN THREE VORINCLEX, TO TRIPLE YOUR MANA GAIN! Turn three, easy, EASY 9 - 12 mana. Throw Valakut, the Mountain Pinnacle in for fun, if you want, along with Primeval Titan. Still doesn't matter worth crap, since a turn three 7/6 creature that increases mana FURTHER (or even a 10/10 unblockable) is overpowered.
P.S. Guess who lives right next door to her? Gemhide Sliver, or any other Sliver, for that matter.

Perhaps Master of Etherium was trying to get at my own thoughts on Joiner Adept vs. Orochi Leafcaller: That you may only have a few green sources (by turn 2, maybe only 1) when you play either of the creatures. With Orochi you can tap your forests for any mana, but your mountains, plains, islands, swamps, and nonbasic lands won't produce anything other than what's written on the card once you've tapped out your limited number of forests. With Joiner Adept, however, you don't even need a forest if you can get her into play with other reasons, and even if you have few or no forests, any of your lands (including Darksteel Citadel) can suddenly produce anything you want.
So yes, they are quite comparable, but Joiner Adept is a rare while Orochi Leafcaller is not for a reason: greater playability.

mrhardy12: Did you read the card? This definitely doesn't double your mana. It allows your lands to tap for its regular mana OR tap for 1 mana of any color. Each land produces 1 mana, but it is still better than Orochi Leafcaller since this allows all of your lands to produce any color rather than just your forests.
LMAO @NuckCHorris....that gave me quite the chuckle :-)
I like this card, but the only format I'd play it in is EDH, and for that, I'd rather run Prismatic Omen. Landwalking isn't as threatening in this format (at least not with the people I play) and it allows you to play so many other types of cards (Domain is awesome) than Joiner. My elf deck is mono green, so I have no use for this either.
Not saying it's a bad card, I can definitely see its usefulness. I just always end up filtering it out of my decks in place of something else.

Joiner Adept indeed has some very useful combos if you're running more than just green in your deck.
eg: Arbor Elf + Freed from the Real & Forest + Fertile Ground = Infinite green mana Using above combo with joiner adept => Infinite any color mana (Using Orochi leafcaller is also get you the same result, but Joiner adept seems more suited as she shares both types with arbor elf as well)
Joiner Adept + gilt-leaf archdruid + atleast 5 other druids = Total land domination with instant mana fix with every land that comes under your control (This combo shows a strong distinction between Joiner Adept and Orochi Leafcaller)
