Basic and simplistic, yet the flash mechanic can be quite useful. Played with Primal Forcemage, or Giant Growth, it can easily kill the opponents creatures. Something that green often has trouble dealing with.
probably the best art for the on-going 2/2 bear cards. It doesn't look like it belongs in a zoo, but doesn't look ridiculously over the top like runeclaw bear. Creatures that remind us of actual real world animals gives us an example to measure how powerful something is. A normal human is 1/1...Bears are 2/2...elephants 3/3...and so on ....so you know a 5/5 dragon is freaking powerful.

The Flavor of this card is almost suffocating. I love it. Time Spiral Block in general and in specifics is my favorite block since I started playing in Odyssey, and I've come to play with cards from every set made since Alpha. The overall feel of the entire block, harkening to both past and future, makes it great. This card, a fierce adaptation to a flavor staple and entire archtype of cards since the beginning of the game makes this one of my favorite cards in the block, simply based on those reasons. Not a flashy card in any way; but it makes me smile no matter what side of the board I see it on.
Honestly, they should kick out the 2/2 bears and put this guy in Core Sets.

Ambush Viper is almost strictly better than this now, unfortunately. Except for the rare cases where it's a 1/1, like if you go first and it's a Lackey, you'd almost always rather have the death touch/ flash to take out Goyf, Knight, etc.

This card is referencing Grizzly Bears, drawing reference to it's role as a measuring stick by which all 2/2's for 2 mana are called "Bears" and are nearly always strictly better than Grizzly Bears. This card is no exception.

Strictly better than Grizzly Bear? I would say just straight up better. There isn't a situation where I wouldn't play this over the aforementioned bear in a constructed format where available.
