This reminds me of a scene in the old MTG Shadowmage comic book- after Ravidel kills the main character's father he, still an infant, is kept safe from wolves one night by a treefolk his caretaker unknowingly fell asleep against.

For your info, the Japanese word for Echo literally translates as "Tree's Spirit". Cradle Guard is a tree with echo :)
