This card is epic as hell in EDH. Mabye a little expensive in todays meta-game, but it still rocks.

yes defintley jund deck, devour ftw, find anything that produces tokens, devour them to make your creatures bigger, and do damage to your opponent. Then back up that strategy with say.. a death bringer thoctar or kresh the blood braided, and you got burn and aggro in a nice strategy. Ooze garden, paired with mighty emergence, also would rock with this card. Helps stop your opponent from using terminates on your creatures or they get burned for it.

Great finisher in draft, sealed or EDH. Too expensive for most formats without some kind of trick. Great with Phyrexian Dreadnaught's old wording or other similiar "large but cheap creatures that die easily" like Ball Lightning.

Great with Force of Savagery too.

Pump up Mossbridge Troll, attack with Primal Rage in play, then Fling it. You can kill three players in one turn with this.

Could see a good combo with Brion Stoutarm. Let's say you use Brion's ability to sac a 5/5 creature, and deal 5 damage to your opponent. Then once it hits the graveyard you do another 5 damage due to Stalking Vengeance.

@TPmanW: Tokens go to the graveyard and trigger enters-the-graveyard effects, but are exiled the next time state-based effects are checked. Common misconception.

Sneak Attack + biggies like Krosan Cloudscraper and this guy are fun as hell. SA turn 3 or 4, vengeance next turn and SA some giant creatures in, swing, then vengeance's ability kicks in when the critters die. Usually game over at that point.

Even better, if speed isn't an issue (say, playing against a slower deck) toss in Where Ancients Tread just to add insult to injury!

7 mana is an awful lot for what it usually gets you, even in EDH, but damn it has some cool flavor and all around red destructive fun to it.

You've gotta love the avatars and elemental incarnation creatures. Beating on my opponent with a giant minotaur or dragon? Cool, I bet that would hurt. Summoning an incarnation of vengeance to not only pay back my opponent for daring to kill my creatures, but also getting to send him on in to punch my opponent in the face as a 5/5 haste? So awesome!

My favorite EDH deck has Animar, Soul of Elements as its general. Needless to say, boardwipes are the bane of this deck. When Rage Thrower was printed, I added it without a second thought, I have already had games where he does well over 60 damage as a result of a boardwipe.
Today.. I found this card. Rage Thrower has always been "R: If you boardwipe, Ill kill you."
This card is "RR: If you wipe the board I'll kill EVERYONE."

Im so running both!

It may be a bit expensive for your run-of-the-mill red deck, but DAMN this is some awesome art and flavor.

So, it doesn't include itself, and that's a shame.

Although, when you have a Gravecrawler + Vengeful Dead + Phyrexian Altar combo going, why not speed up infinite damage?

Try Soulblast. It'll be funny, trust me.
