Pretty solid card, 2/2 Flier for 2, Pro Enchantments. It's a bit restrictive, but a great offensive card in any W/U deck. Plus, it's a griffin wearing body armor! How cool is that?

A solid 2 mana creature for a W/U Control deck. Since control decks generally don't have any Buff aura's like Holy Strength, the protection from enchantments is normally only a plus.

Jokergius: Eh, Enchanted Evening is a bit much to produce what will essentially be a Phantom Warrior. Unless, of course, you run some other Enchanted Evening tricks alongside it. Which one undoubtably will.

Question! Sooo...if I attacked with this guy alone, while I had Sovereigns of Lost Alara out, would I be able to enchant him with an aura...? Since it wouldn't technically be targeting it? Just genuinely ignorant.

to Discoduck, yeah I'm pretty sure that Sovereigns would still put the enchantment on him

"Guard Duty? Pacifism?
NAAAAH! I'm a griffin!"

I think technically you could put an aura on it with Sovereigns, since it's not targeting, but then the aura would immediately go to the graveyard.

Most of the time this is just a very efficient, early threat. A 2/2 with flying for two mana is great. The protection from enchantments is only rarely useful, but considering it'd be good even without it, who cares? It's just icing on the cake.

Unless of course you're comboing it with Enchanted Evening. Then that's just wacky.

is it just me, or is Pro Enchantments more restricting than protecting. might just be my meta game.

"is it just me, or is Pro Enchantments more restricting than protecting. might just be my meta game."

I'd say it's beneficial. Creature-buffing auras are prone to causing card disadvantage, so you probably shouldn't be using a vast majority of them. However, creature-neutralizing auras (Pacifism, et al) don't share the same problem.

That's pretty rare protection for sure. Just toss some equipment on him.

Timmy doesn't care about this card. He wants to put Snake Umbra on everything. Spike enjoys this card; it can't be a target of Faith's Fetters.

Johnny wants to stick this into his Bant deck with Knight of New Alara and clock you with a 4/4 flier for {WU}.

Such an awesome card. A 2/2 flyer for 2 is pretty good, even with the multicolor requirement. Then you throw in the seemingly random protection from enchantments and you've got something really solid. There's the obvious O-Ring and Journey, but then there's all the little random cards that you don't think about until it comes up. Powerstone Minefield got you down? Send your griffin buddy over it to express your displeasure to your opponent more directly. Being Pestilenced into oblivion? Slap a Pariah's Shield on Señor Azorius and tell that pesky plague to suck it.

Now if only Wizards would print more Griffins that were this good. Griffin Canyon, Zuberi, Golden Feather, and Griffin Rider are support cards in search of a tribal at the moment.

"We're putting you on guard duty."
"I EAT CRIMINALS."
"Well, I guess that's that."

Well, I guess you can play it with enchantments that deal damage to each creature. Or with enchantments that force players to destroy a target creature each turn.

Lol, Enchanted Evening turns this into a mini progenitus with flying. Still weak to spells, but protection from permanents :D

Recently I went against an Exalted Deck and was pleasantly surprised when my opponent realised he couldn't tap this with Angelic Benediction.

I wish they'd reprinted this in RTR, if only because the interactions with Theros would be amusing.

A flying bear with protection from gods!
