Lightning Greaves make this monster incredibly potent, even without the commitment of lands. The fact that it can be Unearthed makes it even more deadly. For those less interested in short-term damage, Ooze Garden also works if you want a 7/7 for 2RRG, which, while not exactly overwhelming, sticks around for a bit.

The problem with this card is that it lacks haste.
Having 6 toughness isn't that important if you only keep it for one turn anyways (since the upkeep cost are huge). Like this it might be more resistant to removal via burn while waiting for the next turn, but i generally prefer Ball Lightning (or Groundbreaker), which can also be Unearthed.

Ooze Garden is a decent combo with that card nontheless.
If Eon Hub wasn't that expensive it would make another good choice to combine with it...
I'd rather use Stiftle or Trickbind on a stick, but that again requires too many different cards.

By the way, that's probably the weirdest-looking Beast i've seen so far.
(Talking about Beasts, this card has a decent tribal type, but unless there is an accordant Beast which provides haste i wouldn't bother that much to think about putting it in such a deck.)

Good combo for this is: Azusa, Lost but Seeking + Lightning Greaves + Crucible of Worlds. Attach Lightning Graves so he has Haste, then every turn use Azusa to play 3 lands and Crucible of Worlds to bring back the 2 you sac'd to keep Cosmic Larva in play.

indeed in a red deck, there are a couple of ways to give creatures haste, so 7 dmg is nothing to be scoffed at for 3 mana

This + Reckless Charge, and in the end of turn Fling.

Don't like the art, it looks like some kind of weird balloon, not a mighty 7/6 trampler. Don't like the card, saccing 2 lands on something without haste... But again, I've never liked the idea of saccing my land, especially not on something that is so vulnerable to black or white removal just after I sac the land.

Well, there's your Scars of Mirrodin foreshadowing for you. The infections come in the next wave, I presume.

Ma ss Hysteria is awesome with this card. It practically becomes a very buffed Ball Lightning with the option to keep it for a couple of turns extra.

This doesn't get owned by 1/1 first striker like Ball Lightning, and you have the option to keep this if you're close to victory. Missing haste, but that's easy to arrange(Reckless Charge being a good example).

Wow. 7/6 trampler for 3cmc? But yeah, bad drawback. If someone enchants a Paradox Haze on you..

Use with Lightning Greaves or Swiftfoot Boots...I enjoy giving creatures equipment that doesn't feasibly make sense.... you tell me where this things feet are...then I'll proceed to equip it with a Fireshrieker. Also the Beast subtype could be relevant in a {R}{G} deck, although this card really belongs in aggro decks.

oh you have to sac 2 lands. I think some of may be forgetting that rdw/burn decks don't need much mana. Besides use it with reckless charge, and double cleave for a turn 4 win, or turn 3 if you ramp.

Have a simple Lightning Greaves in play and this becomes something much better than Ball Lightning, getting in 7 and possibly 7+ more late game.

They never really did explain what these things were, did they...

Hold up, maybe they were related to the Eldrazi, like spawn that got away and became corrupted by fire!

Well, thank goodness for Unsummon. Provided that it isn't hasted at least. Wait for the other guy's next turn, and as soon as he sacrifices those lands, return to sender.

Ive just ordered 4 of these cards. Im guna hook 4 of them up with a "give creatures haste" card alongside ball lightning for instant big damage, unearth them both after theyve been sac'ed for repeated beatdown along with a few lightning bolts to the face. All in all, a potentially brutal combination. :)

The R/G beater combo.. First turn you drop a Fastbond to get your mana up but it also has another primary role which we'll get to later! Next, drop this guy, make sure it's no later than turn 4 but as early as turn 3 because he draws removal like his name was Adolf but your opposition MIGHT let him slide if you don't have more than 4 lands out because A. No haste, B. he's on a 2 turn clock (or at least he appears to be) and if he has 2-3 toughness chumps to block with he/she just might save the removal if you sit on the extra lands in your hand almost ensuring 1 swing prior to an almost guarenteed need for re-animation and C. Knowing you'll be destroying your own lands is comforting to an opp even WITH a Fastbond out.. Any whoo, where were we? Ahh yes.. Next upkeep, sac your 2 lands, draw card, play a land and then SLAM Crucible of worlds down! (careful not to damage the corners, you don't want your ***iness ruining a 30.00 rare lol). The Fastbonds obvious second primary role is to ensure you'll always be able to have at LEAST 2 lands on the field to sac! Opp's thoughts at that moment compared to his/her initial reaction to this guy hitting the table? Uhh.. ::frantic face:: Chit just got REAL! lol.. Exciting and extremely deadly making for great casual fun! :D Sure, there's easier, arguably better ways to do him (as someone already mentioned Eon Hub which, IMO was made for this guy. But, my way makes your opp believe they have a fighting chance and sometimes they actually do. It's slower but draws less hate from your friends which is an important aspect to keep in mind if you ask me. I mean, how often do you think Lebron James gets to play 1 on 1 right?? Sorry for the novel, just felt talkative today lol.. Happy Casting!

Giant test-icles.

Good job, Wizards. Thanks to this, my deck will be dubbed the Death By Test-icles deck.

This + Lightning Greaves = 7 damage on turn 3 that is very hard to stop. Seriously underrated card, 7 damage for 3 is decent even if you don't sacrifice the lands and you always have that option if you're about to kill your opponent.

This guy is super-effective in my Urabrask the Hidden EDH deck, especially if you strap him up with Brute Force and Assault Strobe.

A guy just gave me this card and all of a sudden its a 1-turn game changer in that deck, thanks random dude!

Surprised nobody's mentioned Ogre Battledriver.
3 mana to attack with a 9/6 trample sounds good to me.
Then cast an undying evil during your upkeep and swing again.
Congrats, you've attacked for 17 on trample spending 4 mana.
