This could be really cool if you made a zombie self-mill deck.

@ martianshark: Zombie self-mill deck has better with Zombie Apocalypse. But this card definitely has a place somewhere.
Great art, powerful ability, an only a tad expensive :P

I've been having a lot of success with decks heavy on white 2 CMC creatures. In a deck with 16-20 such creatures and maybe 2 or 3 of these, I no longer have to worry about board wipes. However, there is a lot of graveyard hate in standard right now, so one has to be prepared for that too. Its definitely one of my favorite rares of the set so far.

This seems like a very powerful way to regain card advantage after a sweep. That's the obvious application for it, but isn't that good enough? You don't have run a fair amount of creatures with the same mana cost, but even if you run lots of 1-drops, they are usually less effective after a sweep and when the game is in the mid or late phases... so only getting the more relevant creatures isn't so much of a drawback. Hell, getting even 2 creatures back is still good.
Of course, ETB effects will make this guy even more abusive.
I can see this being played in a Boros deck. All those haste creatures and enter the battle field triggers. I think it's appropriately costed because if it was any cheaper it would be ridiculous. And I love seeing any and all reanimate effects in Standard.

One sided recursion is always a good effect. It's expensive, but if you want mass reanimation I'd imagine there will be more small fries in the graveyard than big ones. You use other spells for bigger targets.
I wish this card costed one less w/b, but i guess 4 cmc would be undercosted for bringing back all my little 2cmc pretties :|

Very nice. Also, it's possible that in the near future, because of Extort, the Hybrid Color Identity rules for EDH might change. This might become playable in either a mono-White or mono-Black deck! :D
CURRENTLY, this is not possible. The MOST PREFERABLE way to change rules to make Extort nicer, is for Hybrid to just be made to work like it should :D

Pretty tricky to get right, but I don't think you can ever really call reanimation bad. I suppose this can be abusable, so that makes it 4/5

paying 2 or 3 for X is a game win that turn, in the right deck
this is not expensive for what it does

That won't be the case as far as colour identity goes. The black/white hybrid mana symbol on extort cards is in the reminder text, and is not part of the card's actual colour identity.
If that were the case, the original printing of Trinisphere would only be usable in mono black decks.

I just picked up one of these today. I'm going to start brewing something janky with Dark Ritual and 0-drops.
The hybrid mana makes this card extremely versatile. The white enables a human deck, and the black vamps/zombies. Or you can run both! Solid card, 4/5

Will be a very awesome card when you play it against Dimir.

Doesn't this work around Ground Seal because it doesn't play the creatures. And doesn't target...

Something about those Black White hybrid mana makes me happy.
Edit: One of the few cards to put into a Shadowborn Apostle Deck that isn't the shadowborns or the demons they summon.

Awesome for weeny decks! just paying 2 or 3 into this can bring your vanquished army back for round two which depending on how much steam your opponent has left, might be just enough to finish the game. I use it in a deck built around 2 cmc stuff and on average this thing can bring 3 or 4 exalted creatures back to get that final blow off. Its flexible and powerful and a nice surprise to pull off, no one ever see's it coming! 4/5.

So I'm gonna put this in my Shadowborn Apostle deck. Sac my dudes, get a demon, then this and do it again.

This was made for countering board wipe for white weenie or to just get your steam back in general.
The black divided thingies are to decieve you and/or have you throw it in a black mill deck.
I think it's pretty versatile. At first I didn't like it but now I'm kind of fond of it.
Nobody has mentioned Eternal Witness yet, 3cmc reanimate without losing any cards

A heavy handed aggro deck casting loads of 1 and 2 drops can make good use of this. A splash of red for nothing but Goblin Guides, Vexing Devils, Guul Draz Vampires, and similar could easily pose a problem even for some legacy decks.

Remember how the Zuberas were better when they died together? Some Allies prefer to arrive as a group. For , returning a handful of Ondu Clerics and Halimar Excavators can be pretty strong.
