This card is a win condition. Play this with any mana acceleration spell, you get essentially unlimited mana. What if you played Rite of Flame, Seething Song, Geosurge, or Desperate Ritual, with Fireball? You win. This makes almost any 1 mana card an almost-win-condition.

So, let me get this straight: I've got my Djinn Illuminatus out. I cast an overloaded Dynacharge for , giving each creature I control +2/+0 until end of turn, then I can replicate the overloaded version for (its original mana cost)? Replicate and Overload seem really synergistic if you can get them together on the same card!

What's the interaction between this, Panoptic Mirror, and Evermind? I'm really hoping it's "draw as many cards as you want", but I have a feeling it's not; after all, Evermind literally has no mana cost, so it probably doesn't have a replicate cost.

This card doesn't actually give you infinite mana with a single ramp card like Seething Song. The reason for this is that you pay the Replicate cost when the spell is cast (meaning when you pay the mana cost and any additional costs for it, putting it on the stack) but you only get the effect of a card, in this case mana, when the card resolves (when all abilities and cards than can be cast or activated in response to it have been, assuming their controller chooses for them to, and everything above the card on the stack has resolved). It will give you a lot of mana, and having multiple cards like Seething Song in your hand will get you a lot more, probably enough to win the game, but not infinite unless you can find some way to keep casting your ramp spells for less mana than you're getting out of replicating them.

I'm fairly certain you can't get redundant mana out of one mana-producing spell with this, because by the time you've gotten the extra mana out of the spell you were hoping to Replicate using that mana, the spell is off the stack and you can't replicate it any more.

quick question everybody --- is the mana cost the flashback cost of a card I the flashback of, or is it the converted of that card? Also, does the replicate cost become 0 if I cast the spell for free? And lastly, suppose I use splice cards to add on to those cards. Would the copies all have the effects of the resulting spell, or the base spell itself?

I've won using this in my janky reanimator deck using dark ritual. I know it isn't infinite, but the advantage I got from it with just 2 lands and Demonic Tutor, allowed me to grab 2 or 3 more rituals, depending on whether or not I had a Consume Spirit in my hand.

To all that are wondering about the infinite mana conundrum with mana ramping spells and this - you can't do it off one casting of the card. Replicate costs have to be made up front as you cast the spell (read the reminder text). You might be able to rig up an infinite combo off it with a spell that you can buyback, or something akin to that, but most of those types of combo don't need replicate to take off.

Since the wording in the reminder text says "When you cast it , copy it for each time you payed the replicate cost." If you payed the replicate cost 4 times, do each Djinn include its "copy it for each time you payed the replicate cost" clause, thus multiplying the effect?
Would it be 1 shock, plus 4 replicated, for a total of 5 Shocks?
Or 4 replicate cost payments times the number of D.I's in play, plus the 1 origional; for (4 replicates)x(3 Djinn Illuminatis)+(1 origional copy) for a total of 13 Shocks?
The answer is NO. Here's why:
"702.53b If a spell has multiple instances of replicate, each is paid separately and triggers based on the payments made for it, not any other instance of replicate. "
Your turn, cast seven lightning bolts for 21 damage. Woah talk about a powerhouse card. Turns a simple lightning bolt into a win condition.
Now you dont need the leyline in this combo, its just a lot easier to surprise win when you dont tap out during your turn and give them a full turn to respond.
