since you only have a 50% chance of success or need to combine this with Krark's Thumb, they could also have given this spell a mana cost of only UR instead.

I say it's a pretty good card for getting an extra turn. Only three mana and not much of a downside.

It's a potencial Time Warp for half the cost. I'd use it in most RU decks.

"I say it's a pretty good card for getting an extra turn. Only three mana and not much of a downside."

The downside is that if this doesn't work, you just burned three mana and a card for absolutely nothing.

You need krark's thumb for this, and even then it's only a 75% chance of success.

It's undoubtedly a fun card, but not tournament worthy.

With djinn illuminatus, this card is epic.

I agree with Kataklyzmik, Djinn Illuminatus. Then you not only get multiple chances for an extra turn, but if you get lucky you get multiple extra turns.

Also, the flavor of this card is amazing. Exactly what Red/Blue is about, especially in the Izzet Guild.

Cheap and good.

Agreed with Kataklyzmik and SereneChaos: with Djinn Illuminatus you could have various chance to get more turns, but it's quite expensive... I think it's probably better with Eye of the Storm (all Ravnica block cards... I love those days!), since you can cast it plus a pair of other cheap instants/sorceries to get, say, 3 chance to get an extra turn, then in your next turn you untap and repeat...

Veeeery funny!

It's fun in coinflip decks, and horrible in any other decks.
It's harder to cast than the 5 mana extra turn spells, since it requires two colors. And in the average, two of these get you the result of one typical 5 mana exra turn spell. Except that you had to pay 2RRUU for them and invest two cards, instead of 3UU and one card. And that it's cheaper ain't that helpful either. Playing extra-turn spells in the very early game is a bad play. They only make sense when you have enough on the board to use the extra turn with, otherwise playing them ain't more than cycling them. And in the late game you should have 5 mana available.

And I don't think that it works well with Djin Illuminatus either. Again, you basically have to pay 2RRUU to gain the effect of what normally costs 3UU.

Extremely fun! Blue and red are my favorite enemy colors.

My Izzet deck lives for the Stitch In Time/Djinn Illuminatus combo!
"Yes, lets flip four coins! Ooh, three extra turns! Well, lets start by replicating Lightning Bolt for 18..."

With Riku of Two Reflections copying it, you have a 75% chance of at least one extra turn and a 25% chance of two extra turns.

This card is so risky by itself...

I Love it! I once played three and won all three. Lmao.

My coin-flip deck loves getting this out with Krark's Thumb.

Nobody has said Panoptic Mirror? it's so awesome with this card. Just every upkeep, flip a coin get a turn and keep going till you stop. Paradox haze can give you more chances, or cast another imprinted spell if you already got the other turn. I'm not gonna even mention krark's thumb because it's too obvious. Except i did so whatever.

Absolutely perfect for encapsulating the RU feeling. Take a chance and you could win big, and it just begs to be messed with! Reverberate, Twincast, Izzet Guildmage, you name it, RU wants to cast it over and over again until it gets just enough turns for its combo to finally set off.

Something in me just loves unreliable spells. I can't tell why, but they're so much fun to use.

I find that this card works best with Eye of the Storm. Just throw this on first with some sorceries that allow you to draw cards afterwards, like Compulsive Research, in an Izzet deck and you will have near infinite turns unless if you are really unlucky with the first few flips.

This card seemed fun for a while, and then I realized it was unfun enough when other decks countered my spells.

Ral Zarek's ultimate is five of these smashed together. That's just silly.

@vampirecat.

All for a 2 card combo and 1BlueBlueRedRed, might as well just vanilla time warp.

This card could potentially save nine.

4/5 for being so flavorful and also possibly game-winning.

It's certainly a fun card, but on its own it's really not good enough - a card that has only a 50% chance at achieving card parity? No thanks.

If you can combine it with other effects though, it could become decent. Twincast and Reverberate effects alone aren't quite good enough, as you'll then use 2 cards to end up with an average outcome of 1 extra turn, so you're still at card disadvantage on average. Essentially, what you're looking at to make this card worth the risk is a copy-spell effect that doesn't eat up a card in the process.

Examples would be cards like Djinn Illuminatus (as has been mentioned), Riku of Two Reflection (as has been mentioned), Echo Mage, Nivix Guildmage, Mirari and similar. If you can get 2 copies of Time Stitch off only using the one card, on average you'll get parity, though one in four goes you'll end up losing it all.

But at the end of the day, so much trouble to go to when Time Warp costs 5 and guarantees the turn; Temporal Mastery costs 7 but can cost 2 if you're lucky, and neither requires red.

Also, Krark's Thumb alone doesn't make this worth playing; you still have only a 75% chance of achieving card parity.

I'm surprised everybody says djinn illuminatus but never Mirari. I know Illuminatus has the upside of a body but I run this with Mirari in my Melek EDH and colourless replicate = shenanigans.
