Coretapper and Darksteel reactor together are win (literally). Doesn't combo with too much outside of the Mirrodin block, though, but in the block combos well with Infused Arrows, Heliophial, etc.

If used with Gemstone Array it can function as a sort of crappy Birds of Paradise. The ability to keep the charge may, however, be better in the end.

pretty much the best thing a Sunburst deck can have, another great thing it can use are numerous copies of Doubling Season, which can be used to create say, a 83/83 Suncrusher

Works rather well with Door of Destinies in a Myr deck.

@darkfury

Sunburst for Artifact Creatures is different with Sunburst for Non-Creature Artifacts. Artifact Creatures get +1/+1 counters while Non-Creature Artifacts get charge counters.

But like the other guy said 3 of this creature or 3 energy chambers with magistrate's scepters and you'd pretty much be playing the whole game by yourself unless your opponent can stop your combo.

Combos well with every artifact that uses charge counters.

Fun fact: This is the only myr without the word "myr" in its name.

I cannot believe anyone would fail to give this 5/5,

it is an obvious cheap combo piece, it will almost never fail you, it can always be sacrificed to add counters to artifacts. many many many ways to break it

If you look closely, he's charging up his Lux Cannon

This dude is super excited about his tiny little metal erection. He probably just realized he could put charge counters on it. 5/5

This, Voltaic Construct, and Everflowing Chalice form a frighteningly effective, extremely cheap mana factory. Bonus points if you use the Locus lands or the Urzatron as well.

My friend made a really annoying deck involving these, proliferate ablilities, voltaic keys, and Darksteel Reactor. I almost threw him across the table.

Has no one ever used this with Umezawa's Jitte?...

I used to, until my playing group became vastly unamused.

I like how you can put charge counters on cards that don't interact with them at all.

It's so interesting to see all of the Johnnies on here praising Coretapper. However, Coretapper is also a Spike card. It was part T8 lists for many Vintage tournaments - 100+ people tournaments.

Why? As sick sick tech vs. Chalice of the Void

As a Spike, I feel the need to bow down in awe to Johnny's ingenuity.

In a pinch, he can charge up a Lux Cannon to full in one turn (though it costs him his life)!
