Variable ColorlessVariable ColorlessVariable Colorless mana cost, eh? More like Astral Pornucopia!

Play for 000.

Then, Energy Chamber - and a lot of other shenanigans.

This card will find a home, 4/5.

@Continue Lulz, Can't beleive I missed that

This seams decent, has some 'stiff' competition with Sol Ring and Gilded Lotus in terms of EDH mana rocks though.

I can see a lot of counter shenanigans with this and Vorel of the Hull Clade.

A nice mana ramping/fixing tool for any deck that can be totally ridiculous in the late game.

Interesting, interesting...bet we'll see this a lot in green decks. Lumped together with cards like Joraga Treespeaker and Llanowar Elves, this card could really get broken.

Of course, Proliferate will find a friend with this one.

The perfect toy for any Rosheen Meander deck using proliferate.

Just play Gilded Lotus. It takes 9 mana to match its level.

Since it shares a niche with Everflowing Chalice, and because there are enough cards that charge artifacts (Coretapper and Energy Chamber for starters) to make their costs somewhat negligible, I'd say there's now enough redundancy for artifact-based ramp decks to perform with pretty good consistency.

Vorthos questions. There are portals into Theros (check guardians of meletis) - is this Nyx? Some astral realm outside of Nyx? Does the portal go both ways? This is an -astral cornocopia. Is all of Theros contained within a horn?

Also who's horn is this? Its gigantic - the kind of thing I would expect to come from a god ( we haven't seen any huge beings in Theros that aren't gods - maybe Arbor colossus - but that would imply gods die.

Was there a god of revels before Xenagos? Now deceased? This horn creates lots of colored mana which adds to the idea this comes from someone red and green, but it might also belong to a colorless creator god perhaps deceased, perhaps half eldrazi, perhaps residing in the Aether. So many questions.

Combos with energy chamber. That being said, in a vacuum it costs 9 for a Gilded Lotus, where Gilded Lotus costs 5 originally. Food for thought.

Most of the time, it's just going to be a Manalith

I find it humorous that some people are saying to "just play gilded lotus". Ok, yes this costs 9 to get the same 3 mana, but can you cast the lotus for 3 to get only 1 mana, or 12 for 4 mana, or 15 for 5, etc? Can you trinket mage gilded lotus? proliforate shananigans, charge counter shananigens. If, like said, "in a vaccum", then I too would play lotus over this. But this isnt a vaccum, this magic. A game where we can think outside the (text)box, imagine interactions between cards. Yes, if you want 3 colored mana in an artifact, Lotus is better, but where this one shines is its versatility. I for one will be excited to try this in my EDH decks.

Yes, I've seen the word proliferate quite a few times on here, and yes, this will most definitely go in my BUG proliferate. Proliferation goodness! Vorel said it himself, infinite possibility. But that's not just simic that's the awesomeness of magic. Broken combos galore!

I doubt this would've been broken at Variable ColorlessVariable Colorless1, but the mana cost is cute.

Free drop if you just want metalcrafting, 3 for basic fixing, and can be a late game mana dump if you really need it. Still, lots of ways to play with charge counters, this could quickly ramp up to insane levels.

You can pay any amount for X but it must be multiplied three times.

Here's a handy-dandy chart:

If you choose 0 mana, you pay 0+0+0, put zero counters on the Cornucopia, and tap it for zero mana.

If you choose 1 mana, you pay 1+1+1, put one counter on the Cornucopia, and tap it for one mana.

If you choose 2 mana, you pay 2+2+2, put two counters on the Cornucopia, and tap it for two mana.

If you choose 3 mana, you pay 3+3+3, put three counters on the Cornucopia, and tap it for three mana.

So if you have a lot of mana, you can have even more just by pouring massive amounts of mana into it. However, generally-speaking Gilded Lotus will probably be more than enough since it costs 5 mana for the Lotus and 9 mana to get the same effect with the Cornucopia.

enjoy

Strictly better than manalith.
Comobs with energy chamber and proliferate though :D

Honestly, as a semi-broke EDH player I love it. I'm constantly using not just things like Chromatic Lantern and Darksteel Ignot but "sub-optimal" things like Manalith in my EDH decks as well, because I can't afford all the dumb broke mana-rocks from Magic's history. In most cases, this is another Manalith. In late game, it's a super-sized Manalith. Sure it's not indestructible, and there are some cases where the charge counters will hurt it, but fans of Everflowing Chalice will tell you that the situations where have charge counters are beneficial far outnumber the situations where it's detrimental.

Really glad I just pulled this in a prize pack prerelease, is what I'm trying to say.

To be fair this is more flexible than Gilded Lotus, probably why it's less efficient; With this you can bring it out with three mana to accelerate your mana by one, with Gilded you're always paying the full five for the full three. And of course the whole charge counter / proliferate thing.

I will say it really could have been an Everflowing Chalice at rare though, with XX instead of XXX as the cost. Still would have been a worse deal than Gilded for three mana production, but would have been consistent with an uncommon from not too long ago. i realize it's colored mana rather than colorless, but it is rare rather than uncommon.

Anyways, still good as is, probably 3 out of 5 territory.

I think this might combo quite nicely with a few satyr hedonist. If you can get a couple on the field by turn 3 (not impossible with some elves), I could see this becoming a tap-for-2-colored artifact. Decent ramp if you ask me.

Not to mention the fact that you can play this for free and add counters with energy chamber in modern.

It's like a Pentad prism where you don't remove counters for mana, in that case.

Holy shit I think I just broke this in modern.

Edit: I scrolled up. Someone else called it before me. Sad day.

I really think this needed the ability to choose color of mana for each counter when tapped. But i guess that might've made it broken somehow...

Worst case scenario you need mana now and its a 3 mana rock.
But in a ramp deck, you could have 9 lands, make x three, Worldspine Wurm, next turn.
Best case scenario turn 3 Vorel of the Hull Clade turn 4 this. Turn 6 Worldspine Wurm

Get out your infinite mana combo, play this card... now you have an artifact that taps for as much mana as spare counters you have lying around.

Compare with Gilded Lotus. This needs 6 mana to tap for 2 mana. Gilded lotus only needs 5 mana to tap for 3 mana. This needs 9 mana to get 3 mana. This can only do mono color like gilded lotus.

Okay so unless you have 12 mana when you cast this thing, its always going to be much weaker then gilded lotus.

One edge this has over Gilded Lotus, is that you can cast it for 3 and hit 1 mana. Another edge is you can cast it for 0 and put more counters on it from something else. Coretapper perhaps?

Hi, I'm Everflowing Chalice. You may remember me from such decks as Proliferate or Tezzeret's half of Elspeth vs. Tezzeret. In my upcoming role, I tackle some serious issues as I take on color in Domina. Does the color of your mana determine your social worth? Find out tonight at 11:00 on your local news!

I have a deck that runs Vorel of the Hull Clade, so since I pulled this card I feel like it's an auto-include (even if my chance of using Vorel on this is low).

Hmmm… I know Theros is a Greek setting, but I can’t help thinking of Roman numerals whenever I see this. An artifact that costs 30? Good Lord! :-Þ

Got it as a 8th pick in draft, because it's no bomb or removal
It's mana fixing for the draft and I can put it in my casual Artifact deck and replace an Everflowing Chalice with it.

This is probably the worst written card EVER. According to the text It cost a Minimum of 3 manna and comes into play with AT LEAST 3 counter. How in the world did people interpret this card as needing 6 for 3? This card literally make me want to pull a Francis and flip tables.
