Turns Transguild Courier into a 8/3 for 6.

I can't wait until Gatecrash when they release the Urbanite Morningstar.

Worse than bonesplitter most of the time, but if yuou got enough multicolored creatures... It's ok.

Pros like me will be using this sword in decks with lots of multi-colored creatures.

Them three-coloured two-drops from Alara Reborn will appreciate this, as A060Z mentioned. Other than that, needing three colours to make this worth using over Bonesplitter makes it kind of narrow.

Yes! Let's make Rift Elemental the strongest vanilla OF ALL TIME!!!

Going to be great in sealed. Turns Centaur Tokens into 5/3s, and I'm very ok with that

Seems usable, although I think it'd be better if they gave it 0 equip or 1 defense, just to make it semi-useful. Right now it's just "meh".

I'm pretty sure the nephilim are getting reprinted or are going to show up again sometime in Sinker.

@rollinsclone:
Eh? I think you posted the wrong card there...

I'm really not sure how I feel about this one. I suppose it has it's spot in 5-color whatever decks, which there are plenty. But as far as standard goes, it's only ever going to match Bonesplitter, and will often times be weaker. I think I'm only disappointed because they wouldn't work very well in my white equipment deck.

Bonesplitter is a solid 4, I guess this deserves a 3-3.5

Interesting, but in practice not that great, even when it's being built around.

Folks , Bonesplitter will never be reprint without drawbacks like cost or this kind of drawback so this is good .

This is limited strategy that's better than it looks. equipe some evasive guy and you can deal a lot of damage easily. Skymarc Roc, stuff like that.

Why print this card in a set with no 3-colors creatures at all ?

Great uncommon artifact. It's cheap and surprisingly effective. Certainly my Rakdos Cackler appreciated it at pre-release and I think it'll be even stronger if three colour creatures appear towards the end of this Ravnica block.

Slap this on your Rakdos Cackler.

I love this card. Its not overpowered, but its right-on-the-money in terms of cast/equip cost and its ability. It wont do anything for colorless, its lack-luster in monocolored, but the chance to play turn 1 Rakdos Cackler or Judge's Familiar and swing for 3-4 damage on turn 2 isn't a bad play. In Sinker (after Gatecrash) there's likely to be 3+ color creatures, maybe even Nephilim will show up again.

VERY good in limited, hasn't made a presence in constructed (and probably will never be a powerhouse, but that's ok) but the fact that its a 1 drop with a 1 cost equip makes it a card to consider. I give it 4/5 for doing what it does efficiently and cheaply (and it can be a monster in the right deck).

To be held by Rafiq of the Many, perhaps? This is one of the cheapest reusable ways to give him +3/+0.

Put it on Progenitus or Sliver Queen to have a cheaper cranial plating? Idk, I'm searching for something here to make it good.
Ferlord
☆☆☆☆☆ (0.0/5.0)
I'm pretty sure Progenitus is protected from artifacts, so no, you can't give this to it.

At first, I thought this was awesome, but when I realised that the best it can do in limited is +2/+0, I kind of shrugged it off.

I guess it could be played with Geist of Saint Traft... or you should just keep using Runechanter's Pike, like a normal Blue Snapcaster fan.

I love how this card has two layers of irony. First up, the guildless are mono-colored. They'd get crap use outta this. Second, the guilds themselves are two colored, and they'd get crap use outta this.

Overall, bad card, can't find any reason to use it in Ravnica and even outside of it.

I want to pair it with Cartel Aristocrat. She becomes a 4/2 with conditional unblockable (and conditional shroud, which in her colors and their plethora of token generation, should be simple enough to maintain). I agree that this card isn't one of the best of the set, but I think that it could be worth a look. 3.5/5 (leaning toward 3.75).

Pretty much all my decks are two-colour, and I always find myself sticking one or two of these in. Yes, it's way more restrictive than Bonesplitter - but, for us casual players, Bonesplitters are getting a bit thin on the ground now. This thing is plentifully available.

I love cards that encourage multicolour, and besides, it just feels fairer to me. There's a bit more of a hoop to jump through for a cheap, reliable +2/+0. My various playgroups all have an unwritten "too-many-Bonesplitters-and-you're-just-being-kind-of-a-dick" rule. (Said rule is void if you run Goblin Gaveleer, because that guy is so rad.)

4.5/5 for being a reliable bro.

I thought the card was kinda week, never really used it, but the winner of the Dragon's Maze pro-tour had one of these in his main deck. Interesting, that.

We've seen a lot of different ''colors matters'' stuff ever since Alpha- but I think, for the first time- in Dragon's Maze...

We're going to see "Having 5 colors matters". Look at Coalition Victory. Something like that wording.

Because it's actually going to be that easy to achieve WUBRG. Domain is not the same, it rewards you successively for each extra color. Sunburst isn't the same, Chroma and Radiance aren't the same- but come Set 3, I think we will see a LOT of Colorfulness. And this will be much better then, maybe, but not -too- good.

EDIT: So I was really off with that guess. But hey, you can still get a 13/13 for 5 mana using only uncommons: Maelstrom Elemental =D

In Commander, Hybrids are highly prized, like those Alara Reborn 3-drops, partly because you can get value tricks like this- R&D usually makes Hybrid cards worse for Constructed than Gold cards, but Commander is a format that is Very very good to them. This happens to be a Gold card naming, but it essentially plays like a Hybrid in this type of deck. Transguild Courier is the smaller version of Fusion Elemental.

This card is plenty solid in Block draft, isn't it?

Put it on a Beetleform Mage or Deathcult Rogue or something and have a party.

I run this in my Reaper King EDH deck to turn him into an 11/6. Two hits from him and they die to commander damage! Plus with the other scarecrows there's always plenty of removal for their walls.

Swinging for 4 with a Rakdos Cackler turn 2 seems like a good Limited play. A Bonesplitter in the right deck, a worse Bone Saw if you don't have enough multicolored creatures. 3.5/5

Also: Rafiq of the Many. Ohhh yeah.

Weird how the flavour makes it seem like a sword tailored for the Guildless, and yet those with multiple colours gain more power from this sword.

I equip this with Scrapbasket and then tap one to swing for eight damage.
