I don't really get how steel plates on something's head increases its power so much, unless it's a headbutt-oriented creature. Anyway, great card, and probably one of the strongest pieces of equipment in the game, especially at common.

I won't call this broken, but it's pretty stupid. At first glance you go, "this seems ok--the power is great, but the lack of evasion balances it out". Then you do a double-take: "hey wait a minute...you can switch it to another creature after blockers are declared...that doesn't seem right...

No, no, this card is really very much too good. Take my word for it, you'd rather not play against a deck that proves it.

Oh, what's that you say? You have eight life, and I control seven artifacts and one more creature than you? It's really too bad all of my creatures are 1/1's and yours are 6/6's, because with this baby and two black mana, it doesn't matter.
Yeah, this card is nasty.

Beyond broken. Back when artifact lands were legal in Standard, you can get about 7 artifacts on the board by turn two.
Made me wonder if they've even playtested it at all, since in the games we played Cranial Plating was, on average, a repeatable +7/+0 for a mere three mana. But then I guess they made Skullclamp.

I always saw the BB alternate cost to be overkill. Really now, it was already a must-include in Affinity without it.
But now, it's a super NEED-ALWAYS card in Affinity.

I would not say that this is the best piece of equipment around (that would be either Sword of Fire and Ice, Sword of Feast and Famine and Definitely Umezawa's Jitte) but in an artifact deck it is totally boss and quite a big mistake in the grand scheme of things, considering Affinity was introduced, there must not of been any proper play testing of the set otherwise they would of noticed how broken this piece of equipment is.

Eh... It's okay. Add's attack for every artifact you control.
Oh, wait, Artifact lands ARE an option. With ornothopters and memnites rolling around, we might see this thing do some serious damage.
But hey, it doesn't GIVE evasion. Oh, wait what!? Equip at instant speed?! So after blockers are declared- wow. That's pretty messed up.
Well at least we won't be seeing it all the time. Hm? It's a common?
Well, sir... I'd like to see the rares in this set.

A sterling example of a card that completely outstrips all the others in its cycle. Poor Healer's Headdress. You must have a raging inferiority complex.

And to think at first I didn't understand the point of the {B}{B} effect.
Now I know that in the right deck, this card not only makes target creature monumental, it means your opponent has to think about EVERY creature you control being monumental.
"He'll do his damage and I'll just move this little diddy over here to do some more damage.."

It took me ~10 minutes when I first saw this card to see what the purpose of the BB effect was. Then I fell out of my chair.

@TomFly
You declare all your attackers simultaneously and they all do damage simultaneously - you can't use the "attach" ability to pop it from one to the other and give both its buff... unless one has first/double strike, anyway, in which case you can move it between first strike and main combat damage steps, which can be REALLY nice.
Without access to first strike, you can still swap which creature it's on in response to their block, which gives you all sorts of options. You can move it to kill a more important blocker, or if they let one of your little guys through you can move it there to get around the block altogether.
Of course, attentive opponents will see this coming unless you get really tricky with how you make the mana for it, but no matter - it makes blocking your attack much more difficult, and allows you to bump it back to a small creature that didn't attack to have a powerful blocker on defense, if needed. (Of course in the latter case a second main phase equip is probably better, but if you have nothing better to do with the mana holding it up for the instant-speed equip may be relevant; you never know.)
On a side note: they've been trying to figure out how to make auras playable without just increasing the power level pretty much forever. Having a few that could jump around at instant speed might be worth exploring. (I'm sure they've done that before somewhere, but I can't think of it off the top of my head) Anyway, that would bring them closer to equipment, which may not be desirable, but the instant speed and the inability of auras to stick around without being attached to something could maintain a pretty strict differentiation. Maybe compensate by sticking the auras with color restrictions for what they could enchant, or something (which would really set them apart flavor-wise from the colorless nature of most equipment).

This thing is soooo fantastic...ly broken and I love it.
One of the best artifacts produced so far-especially in a pure artifact deck. The 2 B mana fast effect ability makes it potentially devastating when you have great artifact creatures like memnite, ornithopter or Hovermyr in play.
