I like the card but the art is where it really shines.

Still can't beat Naturalize.

It's nice to know Cloistered Youth turned out alright in the end.

Anyone who would run such a one-trick pony of a card in a deck, probably wasn't going to be winning many games anyhow. The lifegain just isn't enough to make a difference in Limited, and outside of Limited much better enchantment removal is available. Would you really choose to gain two life instead of removing an artifact--ie. Disenchant?

Oh don't be hating- it's not a bad card, really. :)

Might be anti-Bruna tech? Sure there are better cards, but more utility is never bad. You never know when you might need a 3-2 split.

Of course it's not Disenchant. That'd be absurd. What it is is flavorful, and still a great common. I know I'll be packing a playset for my Mono-white Innistrad I'm making.

Naturalize is better, but this is a nicely designed card with absolutely lovely art and flavor.

Wizards, keep having this artist work for you, the three cards he did in this set are great (this one being my favorite).

I think the best comparison is Aura Blast. Which do you usually need more against an enchantress deck, 2 life or another card?

Beautiful art!

Serene Offering is usually better. Any enchantment worth caring about will usually be at least 2 CMC, probably more. Except Rancor of course, but that's what Erase is for.

Narrow card is narrow.

5/5 for flavour; a beautiful and compelling card. It may not be effective in constructed, but there are some formats where it can see some use. I used to de-Defang in Avacyn Restored draft, but it would be a stretch to say that was a devastating effect.

Still, it is a lovely and flavourful anti-curse. The art is captivating: the shadows are stripped away, and the freed soul dances. Simply inspiring.

Also, I have it in my enchantment-oriented cube. Have yet to see if it makes much of an impact.

Say, now that that curse is broken, you uh... got any plans for tonight?
