What if the only creatures you have on the battlefield are creature tokens that were created from Stormfront Riders or Eslpeth? You can't return those to your hand.

My friends and I play it as if the token wasn't bounced,
Since the effect is bouncing a CREATURE, it seems logical enough.
This is actually one of my favorite cards to use,
Especially in unison with Conclave Phalanx.
Got me out of a really tight spot once.

Wrong.
Tokens are creatures same as anything else. When they are destroyed they are put into a graveyard, and when they are bounced they do end up in your hand.
As a result of being a token in a zone other than the battlefield, they immediately cease to exist from a rules perspective.
If you cast this, and the only creatures you have are tokens, you bounce two of those tokens, get two new tokens, and the ones in your hand cease to be.

there are many cheap creatues that have neat 'enters the battlefield' effects that can be paired with this. Wall of Omens, lone missionary, devout lightcaster, to name a few in white alone.

If you don't have at least two other creatures on the battlefield, then you need to bounce Stormfront Riders, netting you a soldier token. If you then try to cast it again, you'll bounce both of them, netting you two soldier tokens.
From my computer screen, this looks like a Star Destroyer being towed by some sparrows....

Too expensive. 3cmc for a 2/1 with the same abilities wouldve been more desireable for a sick mono-white midrange deck w/ this. Kor skyfisher. And dust elemental. Throw in wall of omens among others and that just got more than playable.
Honor of the pure would be needed as well obviously
Alas, it doesn't cost 3 but rather 5

Its not bad it just needs built around.
Use soilders that are awesome to bounce in and out. Like Kazandu Blademaster. And add in some ridiculousness like Dust Elemental to uber-power this ability.

This on the battlefield, with Aetherplasm blocking and another Aetherplasm in your hand: infinite 1/1s. Sure, it's a little janky, but I would love to pull it off just for the "Wait, what?" opponent's reaction.

Stormfront Riders with cryptic gateway makes an infinite combo. two soldiers in play, tap to play stormfront riders, then returning the riders and another soldier to your hand. This puts two new tokens to tap for cryptic gateway and repeat the process

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Eiganjo Free-riders yet ^_^ - this with aKor skyfishers, and/or emancipation angels - can get some fun things late game when you have enough mana to play about with.

Cryptic Gateway for an arbitrarily large amount of soldiers for a starting cost of a white and 4 colorless.

Actually solid as a general late-game token card. You might have to downgrade two tokens, but resistance to mass bounce may well be worth it.

@CarlosLiberated: Doesn't work. A creature put onto the battlefield blocking never actually blocked, so abilities that trigger upon blocking won't trigger. (And if it did work, Aetherplasm would form an infinite combo with anything that triggers when something else enters the battlefield, because you could bounce it, then put it into play by its own ability - its ability doesn't target, because targeting a card in a non-public zone would be... Odd.)

@CarlosLiberated: That's not how that works: Aetherplasm's ability triggers when it is declared as a blocker. Just like "whenever attacks" triggers don't trigger for things that are put into play attacking, so "whenever blocks triggers" don't happen when something is put into play blocking step. Both can happen only during the declare attackers and declare blockers steps respectively, and only when blocks and attacks are declared for the combat phase.
The card seems okay (white doesn't get non-angel (read non-rare) flyers that often with the exception of the perennial Serra Angel. The ability seems okay, but a little clunky and a little hard to build around. Unless you're using with powerful ETB abilities, it seems not very good, and even with them, it's extremely mana intensive. It is cool though.

Also, Glitterfang/Viashino Sandscout.
I've used this in combination with Primal Forcemage/In the Web of War and Where Ancients Tread/Garruk's Packleader.
@Jaymahsan
The card doesn't mention anything about permanents.
And especially Cloudgoat Ranger
