We can rebuild him. We have the technology. And let's give him trample.

Seems like this is a sign of things to come, but could also be a random reprint for zombie tribal.

Nice reprint! Innistrad should make this quite useful.

Dr. Frankenstein has been busy. Frankenstein's Monster.

this card reminds me of the old frankenstein monster that was in "the dark" expansion. A little steep for an exiled gy, but still nice to see.

I find it interesting how the card is so dependent on what is exiled, I wish it had less commitment to {B}, that way it'd be easier to run with stuff that is supposed to go to the graveyard, like Groundbreaker or Ball Lightning, (together make him into a 12/2 alone)..that being said there are plenty of legitimate (and awesome) targets in {B}, things like Abyssal Persecutor come to mind...also could be fun with Mimic Vat, maybe?

KikiJikiTiki and Omglolboom have two of the best commetens for the whole block.

But yeah, this guy could be loads of fun. I think the tricky part will be protecting him though. I think black, even now, relies at least a little on being able to get it's creatures back from the graveyard (especially when you kill your own creatures along with your opponent's). So it would really suck if you exile all the creatures in your graveyard and your oppoent then Dispatches him :(

Also, like others have said, will be the Grond of Zombie Tribal.

Opponent: "Why did you play your Death's Shadow turn one and have it die?"
Me: "No reason."
Nice to see this come back. It might help in Dredge, might help in mono black. In the right deck, this is 5/5.

My Timmy senses tingled when I first saw this guy, and I thought of Phantasmal Dragon and Bear, big creatures with a drawback the Ghoul wouldn't inherit. Of course, Death's Shadow is much better!

This is a good finished for blue/black self-mill if your Skaab Ruinators just aren't quite getting the job done...provided, of course, you didn't exile absolutely everything.

Four copies of Lord of Extinction each have power and toughness eleventygazillion even while in the 'yard. This guy's why Hermit Druid is banned in Legacy--

Play with all nonbasic land. Activate Hermit Druid. As your library empties, three copies of Necromoeba fall into play, while two Lord of Extinction and a Dragon's Breath find your graveyard alongside Sutred Ghoul and a Dread Return. Wham bam slam for the hasty trample win.

If you make use of this, make damn sure you have a way to protect him, such as Whispersilk Cloak , Swiftfoot Boots , or Canopy Cover , to name a few. You do not want to lose the heavy investment of creating him only to have an opponent cast a low-cost Path to Exile or Go For the Throat while yawning and not batting an eyelash.

Skrillex? Why would anyone want to bring him back?

A random stroll through Gatherer brought me to Bridge from Below. Black Lotus doesn't have 5 stars. No card has 5 stars. It has come to my attention there exists a deck called 'Manaless Ichorid' that does not in anyway become improved by the following cards:

Black Lotus. Time Walk! Ancestral Recall, Time Vault. Mox Ruby, Mox Jet, Mox Sapphire, Pearl, Opal, Diamond, Emerald,
and anything else they might put 'Mox' on in the future. Timetwister. Brainstorm. Demonic Tutor. Force of Will.
These are all DEAD. CARDS. in Manaless Ichorid.

In fact, practically every land in the game is a dead card in Manaless Ichorid except Bazaar of Baghdad, Maze of Ith, and Strip Mine. In such a Black Deck, Cabal Coffers is exactly as BAD as it is GOOD in all the other Black Decks.

And apparently, this guy has been priveledged to be a part of the Manaless Ichorid Deck:
http://www.starcitygames.com/magic/vintage/13443_Crushing_Vintage_Without_Power_Nine_The_Manaless_Ichorid_Primer.html

I haven't yet looked to see how much of the deck has changed. It's possible some cards like Force of Will are used in it now. It's possible Library of Alexandria makes the cut in many people's lists. Even so, the list that link shows has none of it's key pieces Banned or Restricted, so the deck can't have changed that much even if I'm out of date.

This guy was in Manaless Ichorid. All the cards in Manaless Ichorid ought to have 6 Stars. It's more than just being better than one 'boogeyman' deck- being too cool for MANA is something entirely different. They transcend being judged by a base-5 system. 6. Stars.

Yup. Manaless dredge-like decks are extremely powerful. There's also a legacy deck that uses something like 42 lands. It's cool that such extreme decks can exist and perform well.

I love this card. It's actually so epic it could almost be a mythic (though one of the bad ones.. It's just that epic though). I'm putting one in my zombie horde deck. It will be gloriously evil watching him consume 50+ zombie tokens and get over 100 power.

This card was the centerpiece of my First deck, which was Rakdos. I would play against my friends. Then I went to tuesday night magic and they were like "That card is out of date." Im like "Noooooooo! Why does the universe hate me!?"

If he dies you just exiled your graveyard for nothing, which sucks in a zombie deck. I'd much rather play Soulless One and have Lord of the Undead and Unholy Grotto bring back my dead stuff. A proper zombie deck still packs a surprising amount of punch thanks to Innistrad, but for heavy finishers you'll still usually be best off turning towards the older cards.
