You could free your own creatures from disabling auras like pacifism by killing them somehow. The card doesn't distinguish that you own the auras as well as the permanent.
I'm not sure how often you'd be able to take advantage of that though since you'd need to have some red or black in your deck and also be up against enemy auras but I like it when unusual actions end up saving your creatures.

and -x -x are not damage..then it will kill my creature? or something else happen..

Kloid, I think it goes like this:
The permanent should be destroyed, totem armor activates, so the aura gets destroyed instead. However, the aura doesn't remove the -X/-X (it's there untill end of trun), so the creature goes to the graveyard right away.

Hey Cooties: 6/15/2010 Umbra Mystic grants totem armor to Auras attached to permanents you control, regardless of who controls those Auras. Conversely, it doesn't grant totem armor to Auras you control that are attached to permanents controlled by other players.
The way I see it is, any Aura attached to any permanent you control has Totem Armour. So you could free your creature from you opponents Pacifism.

Currently overrated. Its only a 2/5 for me, if you're making an aura based deck this isnt really worth a slot in my opinion. She'd be good as a bear but as a gray ogre she is very limited in what she can really do.

@Kloid, actually, the Totem armour has no effect. Being reduced to 0 toughness does not destroy it. The creature is simply put into graveyard as a state-based effect, so it's a higher 'priority' of being killed. Having zero toughness trumps regeneration, indestructibility, etc, so totem armour doesn't save it either -- it can only protect from destruction via Doom Blade or lethal damage or a similar effect.

One of the more amusing effects of this card is how it interacts with "do something and it dies" enchantments, like Mortal Wound, or even Blight.
"What's that, I tap my land and its destroyed? How about I tap it, keep my land, and get rid of that Aura instead?"

It's a state-based event (happens as soon as someone gets priority and cannot be responded to) and it is sacrificed, not "destroyed". You should have just checked the rulings (on the "Details" page of this card, at the bottom). It covers this:
Totem armor has no effect if the enchanted permanent is put into a graveyard for any other reason, such as if it's sacrificed, if it's legendary and another legendary permanent with the same name is on the battlefield, or if its toughness is 0 or less.

This is a great card in the right deck. But what I really like about it is the art. Instead of depicting a scantily-clad young lady with ridiculously large Bouncing Beebles, this card shows an older woman who isn't half naked. I give this card points just for that. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the sexy angels and elves and whatnot, but art like this is refreshing sometimes.

Totem armor was rather weak. 1) Does not protect against 0 toughness. 2) Does not protect against bounce. 3) Does not protect against exile. 4) Does not protect against sacrifice. 5) Does not stack with itself. Still, its a step in the right direction for auras.

little bit surprised nobody called out Stoneforge Mystic just because "You know, Mystic Voltron would be a Cool Deck" :)
Any recurring aura is brutal with this, rancor especially. It's bad enough they can't hardly kill the aura in the first place; it's worse when every kill spell becomes card disadvantage.

I have a question for you all (I'm still learning). So, my creatures have totem armor with Umbra Mystic and I also have a Sterling Grove out. My enchanted creature is dealt lethal damage, so I get to destroy an aura instead. Since Sterling Grove shrouds my auras, does this essentially create an indestructible creature? Or can Sterling Grove not prevent the lethal damage to the totem armor? Thanks!

It's nonspecific, it's just saying you destroy one of the auras attached. So you'd have to lose an aura.
On the interesting side, if we have a way to get an indestructible enchantment... then the ability would attempt and fail to destroy the aura, giving us an also indestructible creature.
So this is a decent card... but my friend plays it in his Bruna, Light of Alabaster EDH deck. It becomes a serious threat in that environment, because it basically makes his general, which thanks to her insane aura-gathering is now a 21/21 unblockable beatstick, also damn near unkillable. Bounce her? He'll just replay her and she'll get all her umbral auras back next turn. Exile? He'll command zone her and take the loss of tempo to do the same next turn. Oh, and of course he's put far more protection on the Mystic than anything else, so it's sticking around...
Seriously, I hate Bruna in EDH. So, so much. She should be banned as a general, at least.
