I like this one a lot more than I ever thought I would. During the prerelesease, I played this followed by Emeria Angel and my opponent looked like I was announcing the end of Christmas or something, and you can regen your creatures (which is nice, since you'll probably include extra regen in any deck with this for exactly that reason).

I actually like this card more than Wrath of God. I know it's not really as good, but not very many creatures get to regenerate, and when they do, they are often cards like Wrath and Terminate that just preemptively say "no". Not having a clause about regeneration will make for more fun games and make creatures with the ability to regenerate all the better. It is good for the environment when cards have abilities that actually make a difference.
And what if you have a way to only regenerate your own creatures? Like Loxodon Hierarch, as was mentioned?

Or you could simply play Brave the Elements. It costs one less than Wrap in Vigor, and will serve the right basic function, especially if you're playing mono-white. Plus you can play it in standard. If only it were around when Wrath of God were standard.
Or you could play Kabira Evangel in an ally deck. Instead of limiting your colors, it limits sub-types, but that's not a problem when you've got an ally strategy going. And of course Kabira is good for keeping the nasties at bay in the meantime.

Wrath of God, you shall be missed. Ever since those good ol' days in Alpha...
But as anyone else might have said, this card is better than wrath because it allows you to regenerate your creatures (Cudgel Troll or Drudge Skeletons, anyone?). Or there's Wrap In Vigor, as someone else pointed out.
@Corgi: Um, no. Protection only works against cards that specifically TARGETS that creature with protection. It doesn't work against cards that affect the entire board like this card. So sorry, even the cards that have protection from white die. Tough luck. Even Progenitus is affected.

OK to all the people that cant find the difference between this card and wrath of God its that wrath doesnt allow regeneration. sooo maybe you have a white/black deck with lots of zombies that are regenerated, then after you play day of judgement you'll have a significant advantage over your opponent. and thats just one example.

HeH! This card is a joke... If it were BLACK it might be worth while but without white having 'regeneration' it's a worthless card. Better off sticking to Wrath Of God, destroys EVERYTHING without chance of regeneration, what a waste to play a kill spell only to have black/green regenerating their creatures?? It's stupid and utterly pointless.

@Sanchocurse: Yes, this card does not target so it is not hindered by shrouded creatures. Also, since it does not target and is destroys, not damages, it also ignores protection abilities. Indestructibility is pretty much the only thing that will save a creature from this.

From a power perspective, this is probably worse than Wrath of God. It's still great, but I see your opponents more likely than you are to manipulate the lack of a regeneration clause. Still, if you're using this card at all it's usually because you don't use a lot of creatures, or possibly just have indestructible creatures. The regeneration clause doesn't really eliminate any significant strategies, it just makes this slightly easier to defend against.
From a gameplay perspective, I'd call this a better card. It opens up a few more options, and keeps things interesting.
From a flavor reason, it's a MUCH better card. We associate it with a cool card with cool art, so we're used to it, but if you think about it, "Wrath of God" is a terrible name. Why is God angry? Why does He destroy all the creatures when he's angry? Why does He stop at creatures? Why does some (semi-) mortal wizard have the power to trigger His wrath? Why is there a single deity in the first place in such an open-ended fictional cosmology as Magic's? Is there some foreign wizard with the unlikely name "God" and they just named his most powerful spell after him? Are they just being poetic about the power of this non-God-related spell? It's kind of silly. Like Army of Allah. Day of Judgment sounds cooler and is more fitting flavor-wise.

Something needs to be able to remove the Eldrazi and protection from white creatures. I'm glad I have two. If your opponent concentrates on bringing out big creatures early then chances are high that you can recover more quickly from the field being cleared. Also works well with Luminarch Ascension.

Ofcourse it's not as good as WoG, but I ain't comparin' it to that (although it's hard not to). It's a solid card all the same. I don't think WoG is ever gonna be reprinted, so people complaining will have to settle for this (and this is coming from a big fan of WoG, never leave home without it). This one is also much more affordable then WoG will ever be. You can definitely use 'Regen' to your advantage, and hope your opponent(s) don't / can't do the same. There are plenty of other cards that can do the same as WoG, but unfortunately they cost like 5 mana or more (Catastrophe costs 7 to cast as an instant). It gives people a more fair chance to save their creatures if they can regenerate theirs. Still, I prefer the original WoG any time any day however.

*EDIT*
Also, I detect some anti-God (of the Judeo-Christian sort) sentiments in the flavor text, which, as a philosophy major, is very interesting to me. The phrase "Day of Judgment" obviously alludes to the Bible's end times, and the fact that the writer of this flavor text makes one of Magic's darkest characters seem to disprove of this widespread destruction that is being attributed to a Judeo-Christian-like God is very interesting. It implies that the writer believes that the Judeo-Christian God is a morally worse being than the cruel Sorin Markov.
I love when MTG puts philosophical ideas in flavor text, even if I do not necessarily agree with a given idea. Good stuff!

Well, don't be so quick to judge.
I think either one is better than the other, situationally.
Maybe you have regenerating creatures, and want to have the board presence.
WoG would counter that, but this card would not.
And if your opponent had regen, and you did not, this card would be inferior to WoG.
Really, it's all situational.
Since Regen isn't the most popular key ability around, WoG would take the win most times anyway, just to cover bases.

Destroying all creatures is primarily a white effect. Though black occasionally gets such effects, you should not look at Damnation as evidence the ability should be black, as it is from Planar Chaos, a set where the color pie was intentionally in disorder and not representing itself as it normally does.
This printing gets .5 more stars than the M11 version for the flavor text alone.

@VirtueVsVice: I find your interpretation of the flavor text interesting. Be that I came to see something much different that you. Our main difference in opinion is that to me, "God" isn't being deemed as darker than Sorin. To me it wasn't a comparison. The way it moved me was that Sorin takes this "God" and all of his work seriously and that in that degree of seriousness there was no joy to be accounted for. That even for someone who smiles back at the face of death there's always someone who can make you wipe that grin off your face when they aim to be taken seriously. No, I didn't take it as "who's morally worse" but that Sorin realizes there's powers far beyond anyone's control that cannot be stoppep, even slowed for that matter.

Honestly, I hate it when mtg makes a new card with the exact same ability as the old one at the same cost, I.E. The Wrath of God to this or Vicious Hunger to Sorin's thirst. Why don't they just reprint? Would save Gatherer some clutter.
Sure they are similar in both effect and mana cost, but there is a distinct difference between the two spells. I do agree that functional reprints (Grizzly Bears/Barbary Apes/Balduvian Bears/Bear Cub/Forest Bear/Cylian Elf/Runeclaw Bear being one of the best examples) are really annoying, even if flavor is the motive behind it.

(One of) The reason(s) they don't re-print the cards is because Wizards wouldn't make as much money. If they would reprint this card into e.g. standard, then all the older prints would become legal aswell; i.e. old cards would be usable.
