I have this allow with Dauntless Escort in my Karador, Ghost Chieftain EDH deck. Very nice for board clearing effects and great to have some extra lifegain.

Use Life/Death to turn your lands into creatures. Wipe lands with Armageddon or with Worldslayer, maybe equipping the latter on a large trampler. Sacrifice this to regenerate your creatures - and your land! Everyone else gets wiped. Go win the game.

I have 2 questions about this card for one correct me if I'm wrong but when you regenerate him you do not get his gain 4 life ability again. Number 2 would he be sacrificed before he could get a regeneration shield?

@kameenook: Regenerate does not bring creatures into play again: it merely stops them from being destroyed. As such, the 'enters-the-battlefield'-ability would not trigger again, and you would not gain 4 life.

Second, regenerate only stops permanents (creatures in this case) being destroyed. Sacrifice is not a destruction effect: as such, it gets past regeneration-shields and even indestructible creatures.

Third, you pay the cost for a spell or ability before that spell or ability resolves. In this case, the Hierarch would be sacrificed before his regeneration ability ever actually happened. This also means that you can't use destroy effects, etc. to stop him from using the ability: before those destroy effects resolved, he would already be sacrificed.

Solid creature, 4/4 for 4 with two decent ability's. Anti wrath and anti burn, good upgrade to the elephant tribe.
