Cheap to cast and use. It is interesting how the 1 life really feels like it could make or break this card.

I agree with christos, I used to play this card, but now... It's utterly useless...
Sigh...

Here's how you can gain 1 life and put a Thopter token onto the battlefield for each 1 you pay:
1. Cast Thopter Foundry for White or BlackBlue.
2. Cast Sword of the Meek for 2.
3. Pay 1 and sacrifice Sword of the Meek to get a token and return Sword equipped to it.
4. Repeat step 3 until you can't or don't want to spend any more mana.

You can also use this combo with Time Sieve to take as many turns as you like as long as you can afford to spend at least 5 per turn.

hey tezz, for that combo you need to give them haste, I prefer adding in Krark-Clan Ironworks for infinite loop and infinite mana

You have Thopter Foundry and Sword of the Meek on the battlefield. You tap four mana and cast a Krark-Clan Ironworks. You sacrifice any two Ornithopter/Mishra's Bauble/Bone Saw/Spidersilk Net for four colorless mana. You use one mana to sacrifice the Sword of the Meek and make a 1/1 Thopter. The Sword of the Meek comes back onto the battlefield. You spend one of the three floating mana to sacrifice it again and make a new 1/1 Thopter and bring the Sword back again. Then you sacrifice the first 1/1 Thopter to the Krark-Clan Ironworks and get another two mana. You then repeat this until you have enough to cast a Whetwheel. Once you have enough mana to pump throgh the Whetwheel you can Mill there entire deck by this turn. You net 2 life, one mana, and one 1/1 Thopter every time you go through the motions.

Works quite nicely with Myr Servitor. So long as you keep one of the little guys in play, you can sacrifice his 'brothers' every turn and get them back again during your next upkeep for free. Potentially 3 Flying creatures for 3 mana every turn - a good deal, I think.

Can't believe that Krark-Clan Ironworks is not listed here!

I see some potential with Myr Retriever. Particularly if you can get a pair in a loop.

I don't know either to use this or Claws of Gix in my Rusted Recycle deck. Claws of Gix allows me to use a combo at, by turn 3 with 3 cards and 3 lands. Only needing 1 black mana, and the rest colorles, activates a combo that, every turn I gain 5 Life and 5 Myr tokens for 0.

Changing Claws of Gix to THIS CARD will change the combo to Turn Four at minimal which is the one higher than Claws of Gix combo, but I need Black and White or Blue to be able to complete it, AND I will need to pay 5 per turn at the beginning of my turn to activate it. The benefit however, would be 5 Life, 5 1/1 Thropter Tokens with Flying, and 5 1/1 Myr tokens.

Both cards work with both Wellsprings, so that is unneeded in the calculation, but Claws of Gix can sacrifice things that are about to die anyway and gain a life because of it while this card, I'll need to pay (1) every time I want to activate it... And Claws of Gix can sacrifice unneeded lands when you're in a pinch.

What do you guys think? This card, or Claws of Gix?

(If you guys are wondering what the combo is, I'll list the cards here.)
Claws of Gix or THIS CARD;
Myr Servitor (x4, but only 1 is needed in hand);

I love this card + the sword of the meek combo, but use discretion when playing. It can turn some opponents into giant cry babies, proof of this is in AXERs comment. Even without any infinite turn/mana/creature combos added it can upset people, which is kinda sad considering MAGIC is just a game. An amazing game with a passionate community surrounding it, but still just a game.

Another combo but is a bit more card intensive for infinite thopters. But could be mixed in with the other combo.

Thopter Foundry + Artifact land + Fastbond + Crucible of Worlds
Tap sack land for Thopter. Fastbond back the land with crucible so you do not gain any life but get plenty of tokens.
Can add in Zuran Orb for the infinite life with it for candy.

"This + Sword of the meek + Citanul Hierophants = Infinite 1/1 artifact flyers and infinite life?
is this a (very) good combo? tell me plz"

This combo doesn't work: The thopters won't have haste, and won't be able to tap for mana when they come into play. Try http://gatherer.wizards.com/Handlers/Image.ashx?multiverseid=39571&type=card instead, and earn yourself infinite mana on top of the deal.
