Uhg...i hate these cards. I loves SPirit of the nigh and friends, I even liked Peer through depths and CO, but FIVE sets of this type of card at UNCOMMON in ONE set. This cycle right here is one of the biggest reasons I only bought singles from this set. I normally buy boxes upon boxes of sets to get a commmon/uncommon playset, but these cards took alot of value out of Alara's uncommon slots.
They are kind of playable, but the card disadvantage is barely worth it.

This cycle disgusts me. Highly unpractical, and an absolute blank in limited.
Blech.

Practical, but known as the "filler of sets". They needed one more uncommon for each color... "Hey! Remember those new mythic rares? Let's make a cycle to show off the fact we made them!"

I think everyone is losing sight of the fact that this is a White search card.
Granted, that in limited, it has limited value.
But a 1/1 vanilla for ? I remember when this was almost the norm.
Just look at Eager Cadet

Would have been fine if it was a common like eager cadet. but its an uncommon if it was a common there would be no problem

Use ranger of eos to scout for a green creature and a blue creature and your all set.

Errata:
The ability should read: "2W, T, Generate card disadvantage: Give Wizards ten dollars. Then get Terrored."

I hear you! I can think of better ways to get a creature out. Rather sit there and try to get a power play out using Elvish Piper after searching for the creature I want to drop with Diabolic tutor and just hope I can keep my piper on the field to do it rather than bother with something like ANGEL'S HERALD... Don't see any creature in one's deck really being worth it...

I would play this cycle of cards as removal bait. If you play one of these guys early on and at least pretend to have the mythic rare in your deck, your opponent will probably waste a bolt or a doom blade on it before you can "activate" it, even if you don't have a single copy of the mythic in your deck

There is something I don't understand flavour wise: With demon's herald, you make a blood sacrifice to summon a demon, something that fits the demonic type perfectly.
With this card however, you are make a blood sacrifice to summon an ANGEL(!?), I mean, isn't that completely off for an angel to require a blood sacrifice? Aren't angels supposed to be the protectors of the innocent of something like that?
Furthermore, the flavour text has nothing to do with the card, it is not rigoruous faith and belief that is rewarded, it is spilling the blood of your own soldiers that is rewarded.
I know this may seem irrelevant to most people, but it just really seems odd to me. Can someone explain the flavour in this? Is it a martyr thing, meaning that those who have their blood spilled are "rewarded" with being part in the summoning of an angel?

This card may be the only playable one of its cycle, and only because the thing it summons has Shroud and is thus less likely to just get instant-killed.

Worst out of the set because the card it brings is hardly worth using.

@DoctorKenneth: Empyrial Archangel has shroud.
Actually, this may be the best one of its cycle, but it's not useful (Limited or Constructed) at all.

Because Dark Supplicant was really overpowered... .5/5 for balancing and development.

@Sironos: I suppose if you think of it as the creatures sacrificing themselves, it makes sense flavorfully. Unfortunately, you, the plansewalker, are sacrificing them. But you guys are really bagging on this thing. It's a 1/1 for one with an ability that can be useful under the right circumstances. There are vanilla 1/1's with better ratings than this, what's up with that?

The problem with this card is that it sees very limited play. Although it does work in particular conditions, this certainly isn't your average white card. Try to avoid this one.

Might be worth a slot if you're running some of these cards anyway:
@TheWrathOfShane: I love Dark Supplicant actually, he makes a turn 2 Scion of Darkness a frighteningly real possibility, if that happens it's pretty much GG.
