any 1/1 for one with any non drawback ability should probably always be at least a 3.

A three it should be. Because its just "good." It's not a staple of standard, but it has a place in many white or blue decks.

I love how this and Smite is basically surprise removal, and you get to keep your creature.

The art, it's just so creepy and awkward.

But great work soldier!

Fun combat trick! If you're playing Blue or Black you're better off with the superior Oona's Gatewarden - the flying and wither go a long way.

Haha. Instant chump block, just add Blue.

So you could waste a card to block a creature once for one mana. Not so great. A card like Errand of Duty is useful because it has banding that can save another creature's life... this card just seems like it takes up space.

If I want one damage, I'd use Icatian Javelineers.

This card is emblematic of how I feel about Shadowmoor; the cards are fascinating from a design perspective, as there's all sorts of color pie exploration, but it doesn't always translate into cards that I enjoy as a player.

I still appreciate it, you bet, but mostly just looking at them on Gatherer, not necessarily buying them to use.
