has anyone else thought how insane a couple of these guys are in an exalted deck?

So Ravnica cards lose their watermarks when reprinted but Scars of Mirrodin cards don't? (I am talking about the duel deck versions of either Contagion Clasp or Kemba's Skyguard.)

IIRC the Contagion Clasp and Kemba's Skyguard were in the Duel Deck before Scars, in much the way that Mikalus was in the Into The Vaults.

Man I love this card when combined with Training Grounds. It's like a Wizard version of Gideon's Lawkeeper that can be used more than once a turn.

With the "Counter target activated ability. (Mana abilities can't be targeted.)" ability would that cancel out a hexproof creatures ability???

The second ability cannot cancel hexproof. Hexproof is a static ability, not activated. Activated abilities always have a colon (:) in them, like the guildmage's own abilities.

I remember when Planeswalkers started up in Lorwyn, before my playgroup switched to Standard, how any blue deck had to have this in it. Finally got an Ajanivitar when I countered the ability counter ability.

Fetchlands use an activated ability.

@Adamjames: there are two things you could mean. 1) Does the second ability cancel hexproof? No. Hexproof isn't activated. 2) Can the second ability cancel an ability used by a creature with hexproof? Yes because it doesn't target the creature.
