This is really good with Pyroclasm, Volcanic Fallout or even Spark-Spray type spells. Neat with Seering Touch (especially if you use enough Memory Crystals). Very good with Grapeshot.
Awesome with suspended burn such as Rift Bolt, but also pairs well with burn spells with Madness. Violent Eruption + this seems pretty sick ...
@Rioks: Shivan Meteor can't damage players - there's a reason it isn't completely broken, though you could damage a player if you have a Stuffy Doll on the battlefield.

Look at that guy. He's a whirling conflagration. He is the eye of an all-consuming, fiery hurricane.
Card should read: Whenever Pyromaner's Swath enters the battlefi- AAAAAAAARRRGHGHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! FWOOSH! BURN! INCINERATE!

What happens if you play Arc Lightning and target 3 different targets with this in play? I think it would do 3 damage to each target, but I'm not positive on that one. Anyone else care to weigh in?

Wow, this would be good in a Madness deck. Too bad you'd be stuck casting everything on your turn, though.

every time I cast this card, I end up lighting the table on fire later

I love how so many comments on here are completely ignoring the fact that you have to DISCARD YOUR HAND at the end of the turn when using this.
That's kinda a drawback.
Ending the turn is not something you can exactly avoid in Magic....
Now, if they said "This card is specifically designed to only be used as the last card you have, since burn decks inevitably run out of gas and then are in top-decking mode hoping for enough damage to put them over the top for the win, and this card gives a bit more oomph when in THAT (desperate) situation" then yeah, I could agree with that approach.

Use it with Ensnaring Bridge. Then sit back and burn your opponent to a win.

When this card was printed I build a deck with this and Oath of Scholars, and it worked quite well (casual only). You draw 4 cards a turn and you can burn your opponent like there weren't a tomorrow... Just remember to play the oath first! Like Osco said, add Ensnaring Bridge and you don't even need to worry about combat damage... Great card, IMHO...
You: "Guess what, mono-blue player, your Psionic Blasts now do SIX DAMAGE!"
Blue Player: "Huh? (reads card) Fffffffffffff-------"

@Reapersaurus: Well, something you couldn't avoid until M12 that is: Sundial of the Infinite.

@Wanderer25: Your comment just made my day. That was the funniest card comment I've seen in a LONG time. You made me feel bad for misusing my 5/5 comment ratings before. Hope you get to read this.
Oh, by the way, interesting card, but not very memorable for me. Probably would never use it, unless it was with a Donate-esque theme. Did I mention I loved Wanderer's comment?

@reapersaurus
I love how so many comments on here are completely ignoring the fact that IF YOUR OPPONENT IS DEAD, you win.
This is kind of a problem for your opponent.
Losing when at 0 life is not something you can exactly recover from in Magic...
Now, if this card said, "play this when you have a ton of mana or after casting a bunch of rituals. Shock your opponent every time you cast a burn spell, and when you go into topdeck mode, your burn spells still Shock your opponent." Actually, it kind of says that already.
For extra shenanigans, play this with Furnace of Rath on the board. People die very quickly.
Also, Dropping this with Recycle on board generally means that your burn spells suddenly replace themselves (just be sure to have Flashback cards in your graveyard to start drawing again).
Flavor text on this card should be: "The pyromancer's motto is use it or lose it."

Whats a swath?
I checked google and it says "A strip left clear by the passage of a mowing machine or scythe". That is not a word you hear too often, and it sounds nice.

Honestly, I really like the synergy with cards like Staggershock and Quenchable Fire.

@ fibonacci112358 - "Now unplayable thanks to Guttersnipe."
I don't normally use "strictly better" or "strictly worse" when describing cards of two different types... but I am very tempted here.
===
EDIT:
@El_Pared
I'm very glad you made that reply because it's certainly true that Pyromancer's Swath triggers off each ping... however, if you had Guttersnipe on the board while you were building up your storm count, you still get +2 damage from each ping (it just happens BEFORE you cast your grapeshot).
Having said this, Swath gives you:
1) the option of putting it on the table only immediately before casting grapeshot, and
2) it contributes +2 damage from storm counts that come from casting creatures/enchantments/artifacts (whereas Guttersnipe only yields +2 damage off instants and sorceries) - but then again... how many permanents are you going to play in your storm deck??
With these two advantages in mind (mainly just the first one), I have to say the second paragraph on Swath still makes it a little worse than Guttersnipe.
===
Second edit:
And lets not forget that Guttersnipe lets you STORM THEM OUT without even finding a single card with "storm" written on it!!
For swath to work, you need to build your storm count, find and resolve your swath AND then find and resolve your grapeshot. For guttersnipe to work, you need to find and resolve your guttersnipe, and then build a storm count (finding a grapeshot is just gravy here).

On a more serious note, since when has the red mage had trouble with dealing 21 damage with 13 cards (by t6)? Almost never, if you know what you're doing.
A few useful spells to accompany this:
Violent Eruption: Bonus points for hitting your own Mogg Maniac.
Fiery Temper
Shivan Meteor
Rift Bolt
Arc Blade
Conflagrate (flashbacked to discard your hand)
Devil's Play
Firebolt
Fires of Undeath
Geistflame
Lava Dart
Lightning Surge
Increasing Vengeance and any of your burn
Grapeshot
Past in Flames and a lot of rituals and burn (ie, your average Storm deck)
Volley of Boulders
Cackling Flames
For extra shenanigans, play this with Furnace of Rath on the board. People die very quickly.

I have to disagree with you there. Guttersnipe doesn't turn each ping from Flames of the Firebrand, Electrolyze, or Arc Lightning into a Lightning Bolt ;)
