This card is amazing - drop a forest on turn 1, cast this, drop another land, cast Birds of Paradise or Llanowar Elves and on turn 2 you already have 5 mana to use. Damn.

this is one of those cards that you'd expect to see in Alpha...

This is a great card for landfall and can accelerate mana. I put this into a deck using zuran orb+crucible to create a constant landfall combo for cards like rampaging baloths and avenger of zendikar for a constant growth. Also I used this instead of fastbond for purposes not for a infinate deck. This is also simple so it works nicely

@spectermonger:
Is Fastbond the card you're looking for?

Did you notice that with a godhand you can play 3 of these on turn 1?

@spectremonger As @divine_exodous points out, this is the FIXED version! <3 Urza's block! o.o

Insane card. First turn, your tempo is doubled. Using it currently in a UG Lighthouse Chronologist deck I built to abuse Meditate. ;-)

It's as if at some point they realized how crazy the block they were making was and went "you know, we could put in a one-drop enchantment that doubles your mana base and nobody would even notice."

Correct me if im wrong, but I can play a land, cast this, and then play another land right? I dont have to wait another turn to use its effect?

HAHAHAAA wow. oh Urza's block how i miss you! of all the 'fixed' cards they made (Stroke of genius, windfall, time spiral and the like) the fixed fastbond is the only one that was TRULY fixed... and it was STILL almost too good.

How come this is 20$ pricier than fastbond if its so much weaker?!

@talcumpowder0046: Fastbond is banned or restricted in every format. It's like Strip Mine vs Wasteland. Strip Mine is the stronger card, but because it's banned/restricted, Wasteland is the more valuable one.

It's also worth noting that both Strip Mine and Fastbond have seen multiple reprints, whereas Wasteland and Exploration have not yet been reprinted in a set (there is a judge promo Wasteland but they missed the opportunity to put it in FTV).

Lol Urza's block. R&D's beloved failure.

This and burgeoning are both great. Unsure why burgeoning is *that* much cheaper though. I often use burgeoning to get out my double-mana lands (ravnica bounce lands or depletion lands) to get extra ramp. You only need that little extra boost to be 2-3 turns ahead of your opponent and those lands give you relative card advantage compared to your mana base and no tap penalty if dropped on the op's turn.

Yeah, this is usually better, but still, it's not often relevant after 2-3 land ramps. I actually may prefer Gaea's Balance for the extra temp ramp it gives.

Legacy Landfall aggro?:
T1: Forest, this, Plains, Steppe Lynx
T2: Mountain, another land, bloodbraid elf

Attack for 7, possible 11 if you cascade into something like assault strobe or colossal might

Also, fetch lands would speed it all up as well.

4 of this in your opening hand with a small draw combo means 5 lands on turn 1.
Fun stuff.

That Conspiracy reprint though!
