What an interesting creature - similar to Serra Avenger in that it's a low casting cost white creature with flying that can't really be played on the turn it's cost associates it with. Coming out in a block with many green "eternal" enchantments (think Rancor) made this more viable, though ultimately it was too wonky and inconsistent to find its way into many decks.

In today's environment, complete with enchantments that do lots (Oblivion Ring, Pacifism, etc), this could make some really sick decks.

Exploration used to be able to get it out first turn. Urza's saga was insanely powerful

Awesome card. I run it in an enchantment deck, and even though I can't play it on turn 1, it is still a 2/3 flyer for 1 mana. I love this bird!

I don't understand those rulings.

Why would this trigger during resolution when Maro don't die during resolution of Wheel of Fortune.

And why it doesn't check on resolution as any other triggered effect will check on resolution. For example check Barren Glory's ruling.

@Taravits
The reason is because Maro doesn't get to check his toughness. This thing says "Oh wait, you have no enchantments? Let me put my 'sacrifice me' ability on the stack :D:D:D:D!", Maro would need priority to die (which means you have cards in hand again) and Barren Glory is an IF clause, not a Whenever clause; meaning there's a condition it has to meet upon resolution.

This says "when this, do this", meaning it doesn't need to check on resolution. One triggers on the event (this), one triggers at another time and checks the condition (glory), and one checks the current condition whenever someone checks state based effects (maro)
