aside from cards like Ghostfire, her protection is almost like that from Progenitus - just with a less awesome wording. ;)

Pristine Angel is excellent, probably my favorite creature of all time. Although there are those who prefer to just give it vigilance (Serra's Blessing is what I use), I find it much better in a U/W Control deck. That deck is very successful in multiplayer due to the high number of instants it plays, plus Split Second spells to make sure that Pristine Angel lives past anything short of a board sweeper (and sometimes I play Rescue to save her from sweepers, too!)

My favorite card ever, this combined with the previously mentioned Serra's Blessing is alone unbelievable but add in my next 2nd favorite card Concerted Effort and this angel becomes ungodly. When all your creatures have vigilance and protection from all colors and artifacts, game over :)

Now, what would happen if you were to combo this with, say, Akroma's Memorial? Now THAT would be mean. ^_^ It's the "cheaper" ($-wise) and a bit weaker version of Progenitus
Of course, three abilities will overlap, but it would give the Vigilance effect needed for constant "Protection from All Colors and Artifacts" (which, unfortunately, means she can still be blasted by non-color non-artifacts...).
Hey! She can ALWAYS block Darksteel Colossus and survive! I'll just add Blight Sickle and even D.C. will fall!. Or, to avoid it's Return To Deck Not Graveyard ability, I could just add Sword of Kaldra. That beats ANY indestructible clause AND doesn't send it to the graveyard at all! It just goes straight out of the game!

Protection from Artifacts works just like Protection from Instants - it doesn't mention a color, which means that she isn't protected from colorless things that aren't artifacts... On the other hand, if Pristine Angel was somehow to lose her "protection from all colors" ability, she would still be protected from colored artifacts like Reaper King and the other colored artifacts from Alara.
@ziquallx: attack with Pristine angel, save mana for counters so when you try and target her, you FAIL.
Also, Kinda hard to give her vigilance. Though she doesn't throw off equipment.

@glennrmstrng, most people are suggesting things that don't target her. Both Akroma's Memorial and Serra's Blessing say "all your creatures gain vigilance", which works fine with Pristine's protection.
That is, if you don't mind your opponent burning your deck afterwards. ;-) Forget trample, 14/14 unblockable (with an instant or vigilance) except by Emrakul himself (or an Eldrazi/spawn given flying somehow)? Hell yeah!

You can use Spectral Gateguards to give her vigilance. Soulbonding doesn't target.

If this was made today it would have hexproof and be indestructible, which would be better. There is no way to give her vigilance unless, if you can find a colorless non artifact card that gives vigilance you can do it. Somehow you guys think this card has Shroud, it does not it has protection from all colors and artifacts, that means nothing can affect it while it's untapped. You just need a creature that has an ability to untap permanents.

Gotta love board wipe :) And as for your last sentence sir, if it has vigilance or gains vigilance then you shouldn't have to untap it. Granted though now thinking about it, there might be cards that make you put it into play tapped, but for me I don't see many of those cards. Can't think of one that I know of ever seeing. I don't comment on here much, but I have fond memories of old when I had this in my angel deck. It's one of my babies. Granted I don't have it in there now but that's do to these new overpowered angels. And the fact that all my friends counter it easily now.

Love this card! was one of the first decent cards I got when I first got into magic. currently constructing an EDH deck with this, Heliod god of the sun and Oathsworn Giant. Any tips on cards I should add etc would be awesome!
