This looks SO GOOD in the normal frame.

Why oh why was this never reprinted back during Rise of the Eldrazi? Totally necessary tech versus Emrakul, just run 5 of them :D

Anyways, totally necessary for this deck, versus the otherwise unkillable Silver Knight.

This is the only reason I want to buy Knights vs. Dragons. And it makes me want to buy it four times.

Beautiful in the new (old?) frame. Futureshifted frames look horrible.

Perfect for shooting down pesky kor firewalkers.

There's a giant "F@#%K YOU KOR FIRWALKER" for monored.

Looks great with the normal frame. Too bad this was never reprinted in RotE.

Really, REALLY cool in this frame.

One of the only instants I can think of that can be fetched with Ancient Stirrings, also gets around protection from red and things like Circle of Protection: Red.

One of the most flavorful cards from the intense potpourri of Future Sight, finally given proper form. This is gorgeous. Cyril Van Der Haegen's spectacular art, nearly impossible to appreciate through the original Future Sight frame, gets its day in the colorless sun! :)

Failing to find room for this in Rise of the Eldrazi (and failing to follow up on colorless spells costing less than 7) was a huge disappointment from the Creative team, and this reprint is as close to an apology as we're likely to receive. So hey, thanks. It's something.

I want to like it, but 3 mana is a pretty hefty cost for a burn spell that only deals 3, especially when you can use Dismember or Lightning Bolt.

I don't really think that a two mana cost would really break anything, but maybe Wizards didn't think access to eight Incinerates would be a good idea.

Its silly people want this at 2 mana, way to break creatures with pro red and enchantments that block red damage (Justice etc)

As it stands, it costs the same as Urza's Rage, losing uncounterable and the kicker abilites. But this is a common mind you, and its useful for red decks to get past colour protection for both creatures and players

They did this just to use the new frame, didn't they? *giggles*

Hmm....I don't think we've seen the last of the Eldrazi. Granted, Wizards' current modus operandi for story writing seems to be just slightly more organized and restrained than DC Comics, but after the first 'MTG Crisis on Infinite Earths' in Future Sight, we might be able to expect some sort of Blackest Night, or New 52-esque 'push this giant red button and see what happens' block....a block that would unite the current arch-stories of The Eldrazi, Nicol Bolas, and a few key Planeswalkers. Don't ever expect a card with the name 'Jace' ever again, but I think we are not done with him in the webcomics just yet....oh, and there's the whole 'both New Phyrexia and Karn are back now.'

None of our previous Planeswalkers spoiled so far has come across as being able to fill the post of 'Red Ranger' against Nicol Bolas' 'Lord Zedd'. That is to say, each might have personal potential, but nobody looks like much of a team player so far. In fact, last I checked everyone from the Lorwyn 5 and the Alara 5 kind of all hated each other. Karn, however, totally fits the 'Leader of the Good Guys' bill, against similar foes in the past. Karn can even sub in for Ugin (who I suspect is dead at the hands of Bolas) as a source of colorless Magic to counteract the Eldrazi with, and he's one of the few 'good guys' I could see working alongside Sorin out of practicality and necessity. Expect a New Coalition sometime very very soon. Like, maybe even This Fall-type soon.

Of course you can't use a color indicator on a colorless card.

Perfect for taking out that Phyrexian Crusader who has protection from the rest of your burn spells. Admittedly, the cost is 2 more than the much-loved Lightning Bolt, but that colorless factor can make it well worth it.

Peculiar how this wasn't printed in Zendikar block. Flavorwise, at least.

Why wasn't this reprinted in RotE? It was a key part of the story for crying out loud. Chandra used it.

It used to be that I thought this was overcosted because Incinerate cost 1 less and could deal with regeneration, which is the bane of burn spells, rather than this being overcosted because of Lightning Bolt. Lightning Bolt is just too powerful guys, we all know this.

And now Wizards have printed Searing Spear, which is not only strictly worse than Incinerate AND Lightning Bolt, but is just a boring pile of underwhelming blandness. And now I KNOW that this card is overcosted as all hell. Protection from Red isn't that big of a deal. Red has ways around it, namely, nuking the player instead. There was no conceivable reason to price this at Red2. None. I mean, had it been priced at 3, that would have been an entirely different story. That's colorless burn, I'm all for that. This is just burn that can get through an uncommon problem at an insane cost. It's just stupid.

For that reason, I can only give this card a 2/5, and that's even being generous with the flavor points. This card is just too expensive to justify throwing into a deck, and as sideboard tech, there are better options around. Again, just burn your opponent.

It's a damn shame colorless isn't supported by color indicators.

It seems like it costs too much (in mana, not price).

So, what will a colourless colour indicator look like?
Lifegainwithbite

Should have costed 3 colourless. So many more options.

Its like your paying 1 extra to make it colorless, which is extremely situational. Pure sideboard fodder, even then you probably have better options in mono red, which include Lux Cannon, Ratchet Bomb, and Brittle Effigy.

Costed 3 colourless? Come on guys, Red is probably the only colour that hasn't ruthlessly stolen a mechanic from another colour. Two Red wouldn't have been a bad cost for this card mind....

good card but wouldve been great if it packed more of a punch, 4 or 5 dmg and a manacost of even five wouldve made it better, so u can knockout some of those pesky protected angels.

Well.... it's a powerful tool for current mono red decks, it's a way to handle with Master of Waves.., except it's in standard :(
