Unfortunately you have to remove the counters once it has five or more, so you can't keep collecting further ones and attack on a posterior turn with a bigger horde of them, but aside from that it can still be a quite fun card.

Surprisingly good with 5color Elemental and Evoke.
Too long a charge-up time for most decks, combos well with devour, doubling season, mass-removal and pyroclasm/inferno-type spells, though.

Lol, combos well with two Myr Retrievers and an Ashnod's Altar, but then, what doesn't? Also good for backup power in red decks like goblins or Ball Lightning type decks. Or, hell, just straight Coretappers.

This card SCREAMS a Sneak Attack deck. I'm building an Adun Oakenshield EDH with Sneak Attack & this is a necessity for it, without a doubt.

All in all a bad card. Still, with guys having persist it's quite some fun, and once it goes off, you won most of the time. Best of course with doubling season, because doubling season halves the time required for this to go off, and doubles the amount of tokens produced, quadrupling the overall effectiveness of this card.

For three mana? Are you kidding me? Even if it is unreliable, this thing can potentially explode into some SERIOUS damage, even if it isn't the opportune moment. It makes it's own opportune moments.
Does not fit into every deck, but 3 mana for 15 damage.

Seems best, odd as it is, in a saproling/fungus deck or some such. Those decks require an opponent to use a lot of removal and get through a lot of chumps; this feeds on that kind of behavior. Fungus decks are also no explosive; they can't just *win*; they have to get "out of control" first and then push through.
This is an alternative to that which could be fun.

Keep in mind that even though it might have only five counters on it when it triggers, you don't pull the counters off until it resolves. Between the aforementioned Coretapper, Power Conduit, Energy Chamber (because you get to resolve its trigger first), and Throne of Geth, ten or more Elemental tokens is not unreasonable.
