I just love sexy Lyzolda...i'd do her for sure... and she likes wat i like too, killing and burning others from the blood of other puny creatures...I run her in my black-red deck with Kaervek the Merciless, his boyfriend...

Lyzolda isn't exactly a good card but it IS fun with e.g. Ball Lightning, Mogg Fanatic, Dark Confidant, Ashenmoor Gouger, Demigod of Revenge... Anything that runs good on its own gets a nice little boost from Lyzolda.
I agree with God_of_Destruction. She's one of Magic's sexiest honeys. As far as fictional women on cards go, I'm torn between her and Ashling the Pilgrim (another card that just screams to be broken). Great ability, great art.....she's the shizzy fo rizzy!

@goldbones By what you're saying it sounds like your thinking you can sacrifice one creature to pay two seperate costs, it simply doesn't work like that(otherwise why not tap one mana for two abilities/spells?). Its an awesome card what you talking about.

Of the four EDH decks I have, this is probably my least effective, at the moment, but my favorite. Waiting for my lifeline and leyline of the void...

As mentioned, synergies well with Savra, Queen of the Golgari, not only in the fact that having them both out at the same time is a huge bomb, but also in allied colors (, which might be the most easily playable color combination simply because of Green's huge mana fixing), and in the mana curve (Lyzolda is 3 CC, Savra is 4 CC). These in a Jund-colored deck might go far.

@G_o_D HER boyfriend, and theres not enough synergy for them to be a couple, like there is for Kazuul and Fumiko. Its more like Lyzolda and Savra :P

If only Painter's Servant was legal in Commander, then I would build a deck around her in a second. The only question would be pain or gain?

@Tezz: that should be very interesting, at least...! :P
I've always thought quite counter-intuitive that in the guild with hellbent, she let you draw cards, but I think that it's the best effect overall... She can be quite destructive, if used properly!

I can see it now. I have Lyzolda, the Blood Witch, Savra, Queen of Golgari, and Sprouting Thrinax on the field. I pay 2 and sacrfice the Thrinax. Then Lyzolda deals 2 damage to a creature or player, Each opponent sacrifices a creature to savra, I draw a card, and get three saprolings. All for 2 mana. My god I think I'm in love.

HIghly underrated card. Even alone, you get an effect like Orcish Cannonade, Electrolyze or a Sword of Fire and Ice trigger with a fairly aggressive 3 power body attached. Built around it, you get even more. Great card.

Man she is fun. Awesome for sacrificing Murderous Redcaps to make them persist and do even more damage. Some Ashenmoor Lieges in your deck and the redcaps ability becomes very solid. Of course the card drawing is awesome as well - just make sure most of your creatures are RB and can be abused somehow by sacrificing them.
Once you have sacrificed your redcap twice and it goes to the GY, just bring him back with Torrent of Souls and keep abusing him. At this point you have probably already have another redcap in your hand awaiting some treatment from Lyzolda. Not to mention, you should already have dealt a nice amount of damage to your opponent without even attacking.

The only real downside I can see to her is her abysmal toughness.
That, and there's a glaring lack of abilities that let you put RB tokens into play in just those two colors, so to fully benefit from her ability you're pretty much forced to sacrfice nontoken creatures, which is an even bigger problem in Commander format unless you run cards like Splinter Twin.

I have nothing against Bloodbraid Elf, but she's an Elf. I am always going to think of Elves as belonging to decks about life more than decks about death, unless they are {B}/x Elves, so Bloodbraid Elf just isn't what I think when I think of Jund. I know that sounds weird but it's the Vorthos in me. Bloodbraid Elf to me should be in a deck with Knight of New Alara.
Jund is cool because it's kind of about life AND death, and just in general feels....'meaty'? But Bloodbraid Elf just isn't nearly black enough to belong as much as, say, Ghave, Ghuru of Spores even though he's 'off-color'. Bloodbraid is like, PERFECT for Gruul though! :D

Fantastic EDH general. Cheap, cheerful, generates cards, and when the aggro stalls you have something to do with all those low CMC goons.
