To the next person who mentions Chimney Imp: you're not funny.

why do people like to use Freed from the Real to untap creatures more than this card? Pemmin's Aura does way more stuff for the same cost. Is it because Pemmin's Aura needs 2 blue and Freed from the Real only needs one?

People use freed from the real because these 2 cards are often used to generate infinite comboes, in which case the +1/-1 and the gains flying are completely irrelevant and therefore freed is stricly better because it costs one less colored mana. In a straight blue deck (or even most 2 color decks) where your primary purpose for this card is making a creature more versatile and not making a combo, then yes, pemmin's aura is better.

Also, sometimes you just need to tap a creature.

Pemmin's Aura, Turning creatures into morphlings since 2003.

I easily prefer this over freed for the real cause most of the guys you would play it one would die from a simple shock, and you would only play freed from the real to tap an opponent's creature if you were desperate.

Arcanis the Omnipotent absolutely loves this card. Even though he has an innate bounce ability giving him shroud via the aura is much cheaper. You can still use the bounce to escape wrath of god!
Any creature can become morphling. Seems pretty sweet. This is a very powerful enchantment on the right creatures.
5/5 - Plenty of obvious ways to milk this card, but still so much hidden potential.

Pemmin's Aura is an anagram for 'I am superman'. Superman is Morphling's nickname. Just thought i'd throw that out there.
Also, wirewood channeler and one other elf in play makes infinite mana with this aura.

While it can be called Morphling's Aura, people are overlooking one thing this card can do that Morphling itself can't.
Function as (blue, I might add) removal. Although it might be expensive to cast on an opponent's creature and reduce its toughness to zero on the same turn, using it to kill is still pretty awesome and has saved me a few times.

@Chintastica - You're safe. Chimney Imp untaps for free, ergo doesn't need this.

Untapping is fun. Doing so many times a turn can be doubly so. Combine that with a truckload of versatility and you have the most Johnnyrific aura perhaps of all time.
The list goes on, but all of these are fairly crazy combines with Pemmin's Aura (or Freed from the Real for that matter). Archivist and Azami draws you a lot of cards, Arcanis draws you three times more, Niv-Mizzet draws cards and deal a lot of damage, and Solarion becomes flat-out ridiculously big (and has flying).

People keep saying the anagram is 'I am Superman', but it really is 'I'm a superman.' this way has it show the creatures utility, allows for multiple auras, and uses the apostrophe as well. Both work, but just saying ...
About the aura itself, it is amazing, and can function as either aggro or combo, making this an astoundingly versatile card. whether it is using the untap to go infinite or just spam an ability or using shroud, flying and flowstone to deal damage, this card is definitely one of the best auras in existence.

Yes.. Very useful... But, the aura itself can be targeted... So, with that in mind, it still falls short of the Morphling himself... It does work well for combos though... 4/5... Only cause disenchant owns it....

Going to be using this on Niv-Mizzet and Metal Worker for sure. The metal Worker can fly!

"I do say, Mr. Kraj, that enchantment looks stunning on you!"
@adrian.malacoda: Depends on the order that you redirect the spell/ability and activate Pemmin's Aura. You activate Pemmin's Aura giving Spellskite shroud, then on the stack you redirect the spell/ability to Spellskite. Spellskite's ability resolves first and redirects the spell/ability, then Pemmin's Aura's ability resolves and gives Spellskite shroud, then the spell/ability tries to resolve but can't, and the spell/ability fizzles.

Take a Primeval Titan. Use Liquimetal Coating to turn it into the Iron Giant. Enchant it with Pemmin's Aura. Primeval Titan is not a gun. Primeval Titan is who he chooses to be. Primeval Titan is Superman.

The most hilarious use for this card is to enchant someone else's fatty and keep giving it +1/-1 until it dies. Who says blue doesn't get kill spells!?
Fun with Phenax, God of Deception! Pay all the non blue mana to boost his toughness, and then pour the blue mana into milling again and again.

An important thing to note is that with open mana you aren't setting yourself up for a 2 for 1 as much because you can protect the creature from spot removal with the shroud ability and earthquake effects with the flying ability. As MagicalSeventh previously stated, it can also function as blue removal by lowering a creature's toughness to 0. Keeping that in mind, imagine all the creatures that would love morphling's abilities. Yeah, this card is really good.
