According to Mark Rosewater in a 2002 article I found in the Daily MTG archive, it was supposed to be “Make Me a Force (of Nature).” It is a rather less obvious linkage though.

I always thought it was supposed to make the creature closer to Child of Gaea. The regenerate makes more sense than Force of Nature.

Omnath's favorite enchantment.
littlekuriboh should have written the flavor text.
"Could I get a hug?"
It's definitely 'make your own monster; Child of Gaea edition.'

I hate creature enchantments because of instant speed removal in response to the enchantment being casted. It's a beast if it sticks, but I really wish it had split second. Maybe that's asking for too much though.
